Atlanta Trades: 76 Jared Sullinger $2,411,716 $3,371,578 68 Andrew Bynum $15,452,122 $16,452,122 $17,863,838
Indiana Trades: 78 Nikola Mirotic $16,775,000 $16,900,000 $17,038,750 $17,192,762 $17,363,716 $16,775,000
I accept. Atlanta and I both get what we want. I get to bring in Sulliger who I like. Think he can grow into a productive role. Taking a gamble on if Bynum will come back or not.

I don't particularly like it for either side - Atlanta moves Sully on BRs while Indy gets a lump that's going to eat about 16% of their cap assuming it bumps up to 90 next season, but I don't think it's rejectable.
Accept.

Lol, what? Is this better than what he gave up for Mirotic in the first place. Is it even equal?

We need to do something about people trading ineligible players and then trading them again when they don't even have them yet.

Lol, what? Is this better than what he gave up for Mirotic in the first place. Is it even equal? He gave up Jon Leuer, Jordan Mickey and some dead contracts. I personally prefer Sully to Leuer - wish he had BRs, but that's Larry's job to see to.

Accept, bring in a player that I've coveted for a while. Larry has been after Sully for a while so this is just two teams getting a player the believe in more.

This is bad for Indiana because he doesn't get BRs. The succession of the two trades of Leuer for Mirotic, then Mirotic for non-BRs-Sullinger is pretty odd.
I accept I guess. Bit of a head scratcher though.

I guess I'm with Ian and Danny more or less.
I wouldn't move Mirotic for non-BR Sullinger, but I wouldn't have imagined to get Mirotic for Leuer. Based on the established value of Mirotic from the last trade though, I can't imagine rejecting this one.
I'll accept.

Accept. How don't you think this is rejectable? Mirotic is a solid player in this league will be around for a while and play at a high level. He's not an NBA All-Star yet, but he has that potential. Sullinger is shit, I mean, really he shoots 42% from the field as a big. I don't like him at all. And then throw in the atrocity that is Andrew Bynum and what? How in the world does Mirotic = Sullinger and Bynum ALSO HOW IS MIROTIC BEING TRADED WITHOUT IT BEING PASSED DEC 15 IN GAME OR ARE WE JUST NOT ABIDING BY ANY RULES ANYMORE

Wow sorry Danny for just asking you why you didn't think it was rejectable, I should have just scrolled down and saw that everyone else was just as stupid.

He is still on my team in the sim; his rights are being traded right now, basically.
It's a 'queued' trade.

Think you're gonna have to chalk that up as an opinion, man. It's actually a rule dude. And it is to the benefit of all GM's to not make the trade until the 15th in game. We are about a month and a half ahead of the sim right now, we are more than halfway thru the regular season. Not waiting, and just pulling the trigger when you think it is good, is not a good idea. Those players can get hurt, those players can be traded, their roles can change, lots of things can happen. The rule is in place as a protection to GMs as well as making it "impossible" to pull off a sign and trade.

Until the player changes teams, it's not a trade.

And now hes traded him away, what if you decide against it? exactly

It's a handshake agreement we have agreed to, as GMs. The players//media whatever just don't know about the trade yet because it isn't December 15th. I'm sure GMs agree to trades before moratoriums are lifted ALL THE TIME in real life. For us, though, because we have a TC, we have to post it up to make sure it will be accepted by them, and not just the GMs in general. You can look at it both ways, CB. It's an opinion.

You're just missing the point in all of this man. With what is going on here, I can go ahead and sign anyone in the off-season, such as Derrick Rose. Right? I have his BRs, I can technically sign him to the largest contract. And, as I sign him, I am negotiating behind the scenes with a team who really has no shot at signing him, but they want him and have things to offer. So I sign Rose, and then queue up the trade right then? Because that is close to what is being portrayed here. Now, that is stuff the league currently forbids. I don't know if you and Larry had some sort of handshake deal during OSFA, and I don't know if Larry and Jay-Z had one as well, or if all 3 of you were just all in a group message. It is also in a GM's best interest to wait. To wait and see what happens. Because it is queue'd, it can be un-queue'd. You can't post in your trade thread that you don't want to do it anymore, because you have already accepted it. None of you can go back. What if Mirotic tears his ACL? What if he gets benched? The value of a player fluctuates almost daily in here and there's a lot of days from July when OSFA occurs and January 26th, 2016, which is when December 15th hits in the sim. It's just a bad representation of you guys as GMs to completely go against the rule and to not be smart enough to wait. Mirotic's value could have sky rocketed, and it has, and you sold him for jack shit imo.

Would just like to point out that the policing of this rule you like might be really hard. Anyone wonder how Indiana got Leuer? dynasty5ive.proboards.com/thread/6463/jon-leuer-dalTraded for him just a few days before this. Leuer was signed this offseason too. All the PA's better take note of every single GM that trades a player they've signed. Add a PA (Danny Longley) to the list of offenders. Turns out Leuer PLAYED for the Pacers too.

My last played game still has George Hill on my roster.
The trades I have made basically turn out to be:
Indiana trades: 80 George Hill $8,171,000 $7,549,690 $7,024,224 75 Kendrick Perkins $5,550,000 74 Kevin Seraphin $1,014,672 67 Jordan Mickey $500,000 $600,000 $700,000 Shannon Brown $5,000,000 DeJuan Blair $3,885,000 Jimmer Fredette $4,708,931
Indiana receives: 76 Jared Sullinger $2,411,716 $3,371,578 76 Tayshaun Price $2,000,000 79 JJ Hickson $5,927,400 $6,579,414 (PO) 67 Xavier Henry $603,950 $670,385 68 Andrew Bynum $15,452,122 $16,452,122 69 John Salmons $490,180 78 Will Barton $1,014,672 2018 1st round pick (DAL)
It will be processed in different trades, but when the 15th roles around for me this is the trade that will be made.

There's a pretty big difference though - you sold Nikola on the premise that he'd be the future of the franchise. Only thing I promised Jon is that he'd be on spot 7-10 on my depth chart. Not saying it shouldn't hurt me, but there's a huge gap between the two situations.

Post by Sam Bowie on Jan 25, 2016 13:56:53 GMT
So, now you are blaming Adam?
"Nikola wanted to go to a low pressure situation where he could take his time and grow with the team, and while many of the teams in the running had good young cores, we felt that the Jazz presented the best combination of young talent and immediate success. He's excited to join Tyreke, Jrue and Hassan to eventually contend for a title."
I don't see promises in there. Just a weather forecast. Same thing happened with Motiejūnas and he was in the trade block before season even started. Magic made promises to Motiejūnas and I think he signed with another team based on assumptions.
Not saying assumptions are wrong. Just pointing out that there were no promises. At least, that is how I see it.
