Alright guys, with the new Stats page that Ian has created it has brought new transparency to how the sim is acting and all sorts of stuff.
When perusing the page I noticed that there were some really large 10% or more discrepancies between real life and the sim.
I tried to stick with high minute players in the Sim where sample size at this point in the season could be considered pretty good based on minutes played. For Example there are some guys shooting 100% from the line but are only playing 5 minutes a game or haven't played many games. I took these out. I also tried to not knit pick at 3-5% differences.
Walt is going to go in and just check the player's free throw rating to see if perhaps its just the sim player in a slump or something like that.
Say for example a real life 90% FT shooter is rated a 90 in FT in the Sim but is shooting 70% in the sim. Obviously thats just a sim slump and not representative of a problem with the rating. Obviously hes going to make a few adjustments to keep OVRs from going up or down without votes. But if a player ends up going up an OVR point due to fixing their FT rating I don't want anyone feeling like we are just changing players without league input.
Here are the players that will be looked at:
Jeremi Grant - FT% Sim: 56.8 RL: 71%
Jerian Grant - FT% Sim: 57 RL: 80%
Tyson Chandler - FT% Sim: 70.5 RL: 64%
Tyreke Evans - FT% Sim: 61.1 RL: 80%
KJ McDaniels - FT% Sim: 92.3 RL: This season hasn't taken many but career 74%
Jeff Green - FT% Sim: 68 RL: 79%
Aaron Gordon - FT% Sim: 42 RL: 70%
Brandon Jennings - FT% Sim: 66 RL: Career 80% this season 73% but only 15 attempts due to injury.
Luol Deng - FT% Sim: 66.7 RL: 75%
Tyler Zeller - FT% Sim: 54 RL: Career 77%
Again I tried to look at major outliers only and just want you guys to know we are trying to make this the most realistic we can. Luckily with FTs its more or less the easiest one to get right.
