While the season IS still young I wanted to take the time to gather all of the guys who are looking like they have made a leap, or are in the process of that leap. Organized by real team here are the guys who I think will be moving up a few points before or around the start of the D5 Season.
Atlantic Division
Boston Celtics -
This is a team that I thought would be full up. However they are all really underachieving. Their three best players Thomas, Bradley and Smart are all shooting sub 40% and the whole team is shooting 41%. It's only been 5 games but this is definitly not the start D5 GMs with Celtics players were hoping to see to start off.
The only player that I see deserves a boost is probably Jae Crowder just because he is a good defender and is only rated a 70 overall. I can see him being a 74, a real rotation player.
Brooklyn Nets -
Sort of a weird team, they aren't built to win, but they aren't built to lose which is kind of goofy. Joe Johnson is off to a slow start and this is looking like last year may have been his last "good" year.
Regardless, the only player here that is looking like they could deserve a boost is Bogdan Bogdanovic, he's a 71 overall and is a draft rights player on the Hawks, Jay is going to have some tough decisions as he will have to cut players before the start of the season. Bogdan could easily be a 73-74 ovr player.
New York Knicks -
Another not built to win or lose team is the Nets. I do think they are in a better spot than the Nets in terms of roster and future prospects but I digress. Kristaps is looking way more NBA ready than anyone thought he'd be from a toughness standpoint, he's shooting terribly but he's second on the team and leading in rebounds and steals. A guy I was hoping would get off to a quick start was Derrick Williams and he's sort of woefully just below average. There is no one on this team that I think deserves a boost, maybe a few player adds though.
Philadelphia 76ers -
This is a team that has been full of potential player adds the past few seasons. Lets take a look at a few of the guys who look like they might stick or those we've added who might need a boost. Nik Stauskas is looking like a real NBA player but since he was a member of the overrated superhero draft class he can't really be given a boost, and should probably be lowered to a 75. AAANNYYY ways I've beat that dead horse to the point I can use it as fertilizer so I'll move on.
Nerlens Noel is shooting 60% from the line and has added an inconsistent jumper from 8-10ft. He's probably not due for a boost but keep an eye on him. Either way Charlotte is just happy he's playing and developing.
TJ McConnell is looking like this season's Delly. He's worth an add just for fun.
Robert Covington is hurt which sucks for a fringe guy that we just added cause an injury can send these guys right out of the association leaving the D5 GMs who signed them on the hook for quite a while.
Hollis Thompson is starting the season in a shooting slump and I think might be a rotation player and could be worth an add.
Toronto Raptors -
This is a team that has an amazing backcourt and possibly one of the most whelming front courts. There is only one player that jumps out at me right from the start and that is Popovich product Cory Joseph. He's shooting way above what I would consider realistic but he is playing great ball as the 3rd guard. He's probably right where he's at in terms of rating but if Lowry wears out his welcome look for him to step into a large roll and do well.

Central Division
Chicago Bulls -
Its looking to be a long drawn out drama filled season for Chicago fans due to Derrick Rose being incapable of not getting hurt by the slightest of breezes. However there are some surprises, Doug McDermott is magically looking like a good player he's shooting nearly 60% on 3 pointers and even though that won't continue he has at the very least cemented himself into the rotation for the near future. His rating assuming it's setup as a 3pt specialist is fine at the moment because it's really all he's doing. Milwaukee is looking like they are gonna be happy with that pick.
The other comin on up guy on the Bulls is Tony Snell who should definitely be boosted a few points up from 70 ovr. Similar to what should happen with Crowder.
Cleveland Cavaliers -
Up until the most recent game Dellavedova was leading the Cavaliers in assists. His ball movement is really paramount given that Mo Williams isn't really much of a game manager and more of a scorer. Ummm, we seriously don't have Richard Jefferson in the game? I was gonna make a joke about his owner being happy he could stay a 75 but no one has him on their team.
Anyways Jared Cunningham is looking like a legit NBA talent and should probably be added if he hasn't already as he just beat out the disappointing "pure shooter who can't shoot" Joe Harris. Probably an athletic 72.
Delly if he keeps this up might be worth adding an extra point or so on just to boost his passing.
There is going to be a lot of opportunity for Shumpert when he comes back because JR Smith is really struggling right now.
Detroit Pistons -
This team is still in the growing pains but I could see them fighting for an 8 seed at the end. There are a few surprises. Reggie Jackson is looking like an 80-82 point guard. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is looking like he should be a 76-77 type of guy. Marcus Morris is looking really great now as well. Drummond is shooting 45% from FT after shooting sub 42% the past 3 years. If he tries really hard he could really work his way to being terrible at freethrows.
Indiana Pacers -
This is a team that has had a lot of turnover the past year and that means that we should be able to find some up and comers in this group. Nope.
Milwaukee Bucks -
Now this team has been full of guys who have been up and comers. Giannis is looking like an 80-81 type guy if he keeps this up. Khris Middleton isn't taking the jump I expected but his team does spread the ball so I'm not too worried Its kind of quiet on this team at the moment to be honest while Kidd gets his rotations fleshed out.

Southeast Division
Atlanta Hawks -
Dennis Schroeder would be a great starting guard and I could see him breaking out like Reggie Jackson after getting traded or signing somewhere. He's surely worth a 77. And holy crap where did Kent Bazemore come from this year. Dang, he's really athletic and has great size. I'm pretty sure he's been trade fodder and may or may not have been on my team 3-4 times in the past few years. But I'm very excited now that he seems to have found a home on the Hawks. Now, he is shooting the three better than Korver right now so that will probably change. But at least we know he's gonna stick. He can probably come up from his 72 to a 76 or so.
Charlotte Hornets -
Jeremy Lamb seems to have finally found his shot which is exciting for his supporters. It sucks because he's on the Bucks in D5 and his team is already stacked but I would have no problem raising Lamb to a 75 if he maintains this level of play to the start of our season. Other than Lamb the Hornets rotation is a mess for one with so many young players. Only two players are averaging over 30 minutes and this team doesn't have a ton of old guys to keep fresh like the Spurs.
Miami Heat -
Chris Bosh is limping out of the gate after recovering from his blood clot so thats a situation that deserves monitoring. Hassan Whiteside just will not be denied his increase. I'm quite angry that I didn't sign him back when I was picking on Utah by offering him huge deals. After seeing him play a few times last season and this season I'd have no problem giving him an 82.
Orlando Magic -
Evan FREAKING Fournier ladies and gentleman. I'm pretty sure he was on my team 2 seasons ago as well. He's on the D5 Magic as well and I imagine they are feeling great about the start to this season. Evan will probably have two increases, one to 79 at the start of this season and another to 81 by the end if he is able to improve a bit. Mario Hezonja is in the rotation as well which is nice to see.
Washington Wizards -
I don't think anyone has hated on Otto Porter as much as I have the past few years since he was drafted. He's looking like a decent player. He's sitting at a 71 now he easily deserves a 75 for his showing if he maintains it.

Pacific Division
Golden State -
I hate Steph Curry, but Festus Ezeli is filling in nice for an injured Bogut.
Los Angeles Clippers -
This team has some of the worst depth in the league. Austin Rivers is playing a role so you can't imagine its gonna end too well.
Los Angeles Lakers -
Finally a team that had some turnover, lets find some players on the rise. Jordan Clarkson is a nice find by the D5 Cavs GM. He's sitting at a 70 right now and I don't think anyone would have a problem boosting him up to a 76 or 77. Did no one draft Larry Nance Jr? He might be worth an add if he's unsignable. Kobe and his suckitude have really put a limit on how much guys can break out shooting 15.6 times a game and only making a third of them. Roy Hibbert still sucks.
Phoenix Suns -
This is another team like the Hornets where the rotation isn't really solidified yet. Only Bledsoe and Knight are averaging over 30 minutes, the next highest is Morris at 26.7. Gonna be a weird season in Arizona.
Sacramento Kings -
Boy the Cousins injury really put a hold on things in Sac Town didn't it? Here's the rundown of this team, Rudy Gay is still a chucker, Rondo still can't shoot, Darren Collison is looking pretty decent and Omri Casspi is doing OK.
This division sucks for this, but it will be great for my On the Drop post about guys whos ratings should go down.

Southwest Division
Dallas Mavericks -
Dwight Powell is looking pretty good, I'm not sure if he's added yet but he should be. Probably a 73-74.
This is a team really ripe for the lower article.
Houston Rockets -
Marcus Thornton should have a 77 by the allstar break if he keeps up these numbers. Clint Capela is a guy who I really liked and its showing why. He's playing a simple role 74% FG and he's doing it well in place of resting Dwight. He doesn't have a rating yet but I can see him at a 74 to start off.
Memphis Grizzlies -
This team has no breakouts because none of their roles has changed. The team still can't score for crap.
New Orleans Pelicans -
This team is a mess, I'd trade half the team for a mid first round pick in this draft and old guys. Classic example of a team that got too good too fast and is too top heavy. Basically Davis is gonna be LBJ on the Cavs the first time.
San Antonio Spurs -
This team was a major player in FA this season for the first time in a while. But despite the changes nothing really has changed.

I like the way you've analysed teams like this, it is how D5 operates after all. For my D5 Celtics, going into this season I've been impressed by: Both the guys I drafted towards the end of the 1st Round two years running: Jerami Grant Montrezl Harrell Jerian Grant has looked great for the Knicks and I don't regret picking him above Willie Cauley-Stein. I'm closely watching: Enes Kanter - he's still producing well but he's a 6th Man and his numbers have fallen. Jabari Parker - he's looked good since returning from injury, I just hope he can play more than 30 mins per game. I'm disappointed by: Ben McLemore - he's had one good game so far, the rest have been utterly awful. Considering I was more excited by him than Oladipo when I drafted him, he's becoming a real disappointment. Sam Dekker - but only because he's had literally 10 seconds of playing time given by coach McHale in Houston.

North West Division
Denver Nuggets -
Now this division should be a bit more fruitful than the past two. Will Barton is a guy who Philly has held onto for a while and its looking like it might pay dividends as hes averaging 13 ppg which is awesome for an unknown type guy. He's a 69 overall right now and could probably boost up to a 75. Joffrey Lauvergne is a guy I didn't know existed till the summer league and is looking like an alright player. My Nikola Jokic is playing decent for a second round player. Gary Harris continues to disappoint.
Minnesota Timberwolves -
Ricky Rubio? What the heck did he do, the other day he was at 20 ppg and 45% shooting. Just goes to show how overreacting to the early season can be stupid. I hope he does shoot better this season, he's a fun player to watch and it would be nice to see him also be able to make shots. Nemanja Bjelica is going to need a rating and is one of the 9 players left on the Kings so thats a guy who is playing which means he only needs to sign 3-4 more guys. Everyone that I was hoping would make a jump this season (Lavine, Muhammad) hasn't just yet. Wiggins was overrated to start and is looking to be starting to earn that rating.
Oklahoma City Thunder -
This team is a joke, Durant and Westbrook (two guys who aren't the most durable) are playing almost 40 minutes a game and doing literally everything for this team. Ibaka hasn't shown up, Kanter is a waste of a max deal that could have gone to Harden. Waiters isn't going to make a jump. Steven Adams is having to take back minutes from Kanter. Sam Presti isn't a good GM. He's just a guy that got lucky in the draft and never did anything to improve the team. When he tried to sign outside FAs he's failed horribly. Billy Donovan is a shit coach and is gonna keep his job for a few years till Durant and Westbrook leave and he's exposed.
Portland Trail Blazers -
Damian Lillard is playing magnificently and in this weakest Western Division I could see him limping into the playoffs with a division win and screwing up their rebuild. CJ McCollum is a 20 ppg guy right now. He could be a 79 overall guy in my opinion. Noah Vonleh is still apparently void of NBA talent which sucks.
Utah Jazz -
More or less everyone is kind of weaksauce to start the season. Review this again in a few weeks.
Thats all folks. I'm hope you enjoyed reading this and seeing how things turn out for these players.

Maybe even worse than David Lee. Willie Cauley-Stein hasn't exactly disappointed or anything but he's just going to do what he's going to do and that it, nothing more nothing less. I can see why you went for upside there. With a guy like Dekker or Harrell drafted to a good team you have to take the long play with it because there is a good to fair chance that they won't start or even play right away. Harrell is only even getting minutes because Dwight has been out.

Except Deandre only cost a 2nd rounder instead of a top pick. i dont see how where someone is picked has anything to do with how well they are performing It matters in terms of cost to benefit ratio. If your first rounder does terrible its worse than if your 2nd rounder does terrible. Likewise if you can get the same thing with a 2nd rounder its sort of found money. It seems that serviceable bigmen are all over at the top of the 2nd round and bottom of the 1st meaning that taking a defensive specialist bigman role player with a lottery pick is wasted opportunity. Some recent examples: Hassan Whiteside 33rd pick Deandre Jordan 35th pick Nikola Pekovic 31st pick Omer Asik 36th pick Taj Gibson 26th pick Dajuan Blair 37th pick Draymond Green 35th pick Etc.

I don't need to be the WORST

At least your contract was capped. I payed mirotic 3x what he got IRL Then again, something (Mirotic) > nothing with you having something next off-season and us having another terrible off-season. Plus, it is hard to tell how much Mirotic would command if he was a FA right now.
