Golden State Warriors - Mike MillerFour of the best teams in the league pursued Mike Miller: the Heat, Blazers, Bulls and Warriors, and all of them offered him the league minimum. In the end it came down to the amount of effort and in the end Chris Mullin once again surpassed his rivals, pointing out that his depth chart and three-point-focused ethos worked perfectly for Mike Miller's game. Mr Miller signs a one year deal with the Warriors for the league minimum: Year 1 - $507,336

Welcome aboard Mike! We needed a backup SF that can shoot the 3 and Miller will fill that role nicely for us.

Stupid question, but what am I missing? dynasty5ive.proboards.com/thread/234. I thought we couldn't offer league minimums for players rated over 70. I am sure I am missing something, could you please specify.

No one is going to answer? Lol. I mean, I think the rule is dumb, but that's just me. I think it should a different determination in some way, but I am not really sure.

I honestly don't care if everyone is alright with it. I mean Miller did sign a minimum in real-life, so there has to be a way we can implement this into the rule.

Maybe keep the rule the same, but allow for an exception as to players who sign a minimum in real life. Just use the previous year as a set point. Example, Mike Miller signed a veteran minimum last year in real life, so he has an exception in D5 to sign a minimum even though he is above a 70. Just a thought.

He declined my minimum offer the same day i offered it then accepted a league minimum and passed up on playing with his long time friend named Lebron James. Just wow.

Serious question, why is this a rule?? Any player rated above 70 has a player agent. If the player agent doesnt like an offer for his client, then he doesnt take that offer. My offer was apparently "the best" of the other 3 minimum deals offered to Miller, but I cant sign him because of a rating that is surely to get lowered the next time someone posts a stock watch thread about him.
We're almost 3 full weeks into FA and over that period of time all Miller has received is 4 minimum contracts from contending teams. Mike Miller's market value is a minimum contract based on the offers hes received. This is completely unrealistic, vet players do take pay cuts some times to have a chance to compete for a title, see David West IRL.
Also didnt Miller sign a minimum deal IRL? Since player ratings fluctuate throughout a season I dont understand why a player above a 70 cant sign a minimum deal if his agent feels that is the best offer he's going to get at this time.
Which based on the 4 total offers hes gotten over 3 weeks, Id say hes a minimum contract player.

No response? Just moved to the trash? Cool. I've been away for the weekend. Basically it's a rule I should've followed but forgot about. Given that four other GMs made offers for the league minimum I guess they forgot about it also. It's an innocent mistake.
