Rajon Rondo originally wanted a ring but with hardly any offers coming his way during OFSA, he has decided lower his standards. Detroit may not be winning the championship right now but if he could sign a few key players in the market or trade for some, his team could be dangerous in the East. Rondo enjoyed his time in Dallas but he wanted to go to a team that wanted him the most and would of done anything for his services. GM Ghazny Dimalen showed my client that Detroit wants him and today we are proud to announce we have signed a 2 year deal with Detroit Pistons Rajon Rondo Accepts: Year 1: $ 22,469,347 Year 2: $ 24,940,975 - Player Option

Rajon Rondo originally wanted a ring but with hardly any offers coming his way during OFSA, he has decided lower his standards. I asked (before signing Jrue) but we didn't offer because it sounded like he would not even consider an offer from a non-contender. There are like 25 teams in the middle of a title contender and Pistons.

Worst case scenario for Detroit? He has a huge contract on a 2 year deal.
Sometimes just having the contracts on the books helps immensely in deals. You can get talent on the cheap if you have the contracts to match and they are short term.
