Well, only two teams were after James and he decided to sign his contract now because he's happy with where he's going.
The Celtics drafted James and signed him to a 2-year contract. They now want him to return. He'll have one PO in the 3rd year, which gives him both the chance to prove he can deserve more money, but also gives him the stability in case he doesn't get the PT required to earn a larger role.
James is happy to return to Boston and continue building there!
2015/16 - $2,050,000 2016/17 - $2,275,500 2017/18 - $2,525,805 (PO) 2018/19 - $2,778,385
Total: $9,629,690

Lol, stupid player options. Have fun losing him if he actually ends up good.

Lol, stupid player options. Have fun losing him if he actually ends up good. You were the only other team offering. If you are saying there's no way you would have put in a PO, then you would have lost him even if Boston wasn't his returning town. We need to make decisions at some point. Those who show more faith in and devotion to the player will win if all other things are equal.
