I was going to post a longer explanation of some of the things brought up here, but it seems like Ian has brought this to a conclusion. Unfortunate as it is. I will post this though for reference because I didn't see it above:

I will post this though for reference because I didn't see it above: It really doesn't matter, when he should have signed with either the Lakers or Mavs before Milwaukee. Glenn promising to trade Drummond is just like him trying to make a deal when he was caught cheating before. Here though it looks legit...and of course he traded Drummond quick as hell so that we would stop talking about it just like how he did with the Holiday situation...

About promises to trade players, I think it was really unfair while it lasted because some teams worked really hard during the season to free up cap space for the off-season. I mean, why make all that effort when you can just wait, make a promise and then, move the player to 1 of 20 teams with huge cap space desperate to make some moves. I mean, maybe I'm misinterpreting something you said but... #1 - Glenn did have cap space. He's done an awesome job at assembling a desirable, very good team AND having the cap space to pursue a top-level FA. #2 - I also had the cap space. If Bledsoe was going to choose me than I was going to renounce Favors' BR's, giving me enough space. #3 - It's not competition for a playing spot if I say Bledsoe is going to start and he's got a higher rating and he's a better player according to almost everyone. I disagreed that I should have had to move Rubio and thought that Rubio-Bledsoe-Oladipo-Batum-Okafor could be a fun lineup to run out there at times, or even just Rubio/Bledsoe playing together in general could be good, but the PA wanted it so I said if that's what it takes then I'll do it. This is not an easy league to win. Hell, LeBron doesn't have a ring yet in here, and the team with LeBron may very well lose him next year. It's a hard league! Just like real life. It may not always feel "fair" but please keep in mind there are 30 of us here and no matter what decision "players" (agents) make, someone is going to feel slighted. No matter what. If it's you sometimes, deal with it. I have in the past, most of us have even in the Stock Watch or with a trade being rejected, or a FA signing elsewhere. Do your best, have some fun, commit to the long-term build if that's where your team is, or find a way to change your fate. Don't blame others if someone signs elsewhere especially if there is a good reason. Playing with Anthony Davis is a good enough reason for anyone IMO, especially with the rest of the team the Bucks have. Why wouldn't Gasol at least consider it?

But don't you agree with what I said that it is a lot easier to unload contracts during off-season than season?
Then again, It probably has to do with the fact that I have not been in an off-season before. I just didn't consider during the season that teams could make promises later.

I remember Glenn earlier in the season asking me if he should drop AD and re rebuild.

Might have been last season you were considering abandoning your rebuild and trying something else. Not really relevant but I remember it.

I did this on purpose to undermine your decision because, no matter how hard you try, it will always be tainted if every so slightly and I want major change before I stay in this league as a GM. Maybe you didn't cheat but you definitely stink as a player agent if not.

Off-Season is hyper active in pretty much every way. So yea, it's definitely easier in the offseason, didn't quite pick up on that being your main point, my bad.
