Houston Rockets - Wesley MatthewsWesley Matthews will sign with the Houston Rockets. Since Eric Bledsoe signed with the Timberwolves and Wesley was promised a starting role with the Rockets his mind was made up. The closest contenders for his services were a 6th Man role for Milwaukee or a starting small forward role for Sacramento where he would be paid roughly the same, but Houston came out on top by offering a promised starting shooting guard role on a Playoff experienced team. 2015/16 - $11,406,000 2016/17 - $12,204,955 2017/18 - $13,059,302 (PO)2018/19 - $13,973,452 2019/20 - $14,951,595 Total: $65,595,304

Come on, You know who I am talking about. JR Wiles didn't even attempt to re-sign him, so I feel safe in my bed at night

Hmm, that's interesting JR would let him just walk away without even attempting to make an offer.

At first, this REALLY upset me. Then I started thinking about it and Houston is over the cap now, so I can go target one of his true SFs! Thank you Wesley Matthews and best of luck in Houston!

Wow what a shit offseason for Houston. Essentially traded Chandler, Draymond, and Bledsoe for Wes Matthews Add Rudy Gay to that list. Houston went and got a bunch of players without BRs. He still has about ~12 million in cap left, though.

He's gonna have a hell of a 2015-2016 off-season though. No bird-rights on Rose or Love but he'll have only ~20 million on the books. that's like 68 in cap space depending on who he signs with the rest of his space. Looks like Dray and Gay are gone though, doubt either will re-sign for only 12 million.

I could bring in 3 dudes for 20 as well as rose. But its more likely I sign rose to a deal then see what happens with love and the other dudes. I also think I'll be able to bring in someone good for 12 this off-season. And I can always move some cap around. The guys that take up my cap that I could move are all rookies, so that shouldn't be hard.

Because of all the hoop-la around the DeAndre signing, Wes actually went for 16+m in his first year, I get him here for a lot less, when everyone was going for crazy amounts.
Even more pleased.
