Cleveland Trade: 71 Lance Thomas $563,142 $625,088 Den 2016 2nd Cle 2019 2nd
Detroit Trade: 79 J.R. Smith $10,171,909
I accept. Detroit is gunning for the big fishes in the FA Market while I only have my sight for one big fish in the market right now so it is fine for me to give up my cap space.
I think Detroit's current situation should improve once Greg resigned with them and that should lure at least one big fish and they will need this cap space for that.

I don't like what Detroit is doing. Nene at least made some sense as Faried and Monroe would make him redundant, but you can't just jettison all of your talent for cap space and expect to have all your pieces line up in free agency. I'm worried the Pistons are daydreaming about all the signings they're going to make and how great this offseason will go. It's just as likely (and increasingly more so, with trades like this) that Monroe will now bail for a more promising situation and Detroit battles Memphis for lottery chances. I might have to revise my comments from that Pelicans trade where he acquired the Pistons 2016 1st round pick, it could end up being a great move.
The problem though, is that with all that being said, I'm not sure this trade is rejectable. JR Smith is a headcase and has a volatile game, and he has an expiring contract, so he can't have much trade value as a player at all. So I don't know, I don't like this because of the direction the Pistons are going.

I'm in exactly the same boat as Alex. I know Ghazny has offered on a couple of SF FA's (that's who I represent) but I can't say anyone is a slam dunk right now to join him and many are just as likely to go somewhere else as to join his team.
He "could" be putting himself into a great position here but he could just as easily or even more likely be dooming himself.

honestly if my deal got rejected for this reason, I should reject but since I am a believer in trades like this, i accept.

Dont you worry Walt and Alex. Ghazny wont accept this unless he is sure about atleast one FA to sign with him I just posted it so that the PAs can be assured that he had and additional 10M cap space if necessary.

There are only 15 free agents left over 80 and most of them wouldn't even consider Pistons at this point. They are starting to look like Magic, Cavs or Grizzlies from last season. Lot of cap and no talent.

I think all you conclude that piston will be a trash this season. What do you say detroit has no talent?are you blind? Previous transaction i got faried, dunleavy and josh mcroberts.yes they are not superstar they can contribute. If i can get 2 free agent above 80 and greg will sign in pistons what will be the out come of my team?
I think you mistaken me for saying im retarded.if TC will not on my side even i give more efforts and money to build my team a championship caliber that is not my fault they dont see my plan and effort for that. So please refrain from saying i'm retarded and will ruin the detroit pistons, dont judge me.
This trade will be a message to the TC that i doing my best to win this game and try to surround greg a good player that will satisfy him.

If i can get 2 free agent above 80 and greg will sign in pistons what will be the out come of my team? You can't do that. That is the problem. There are 14 players left over 80 including some like Cousins, Gasol and Wall that you can't get. Also, there are 19 team I think with massive cap space. I do not think you are retarded like Adam said but I don't believe you spent enough time to look at the whole picture.

Adam went too far with the "retard" comment, I don't blame you being angry about that. My point is just that cap space does NOT equal good players. It may give you more chances on more players hypothetically but you need to have a lot of things going for you to be able to sign a player. A good team already in place is a big part of that in a lot of cases, especially for an 80+ FA.

Im not that angry, im just trying to give a message that pls respect if my plan failed no one to blame just only my self.
Thanks for the information sir waltz. I know cap space is not equal to good quality player, i think my team is not a total loser i think we can catch a big name in free agent by giving a mesaage that they will have a chance to be paired by 2 or 3 more 80+ player if they will sign to us and a chance to chase a championship..my success is dependent to greg monroe if he will sign to detroit or not.

I accept.
This is not the same as OKC trading Millsap away for KCP, just so he could have a shot at Lamarcus Aldridge. That was General Manager Suicide.
This is JR Smith for some 2nds and cap space. Good luck to you Ghazny.

After this was posted, lots of FAs signed. This makes no sense at all for Pistons. They will need all the help they can get next season. Trust me, they are next season Magic with no own picks and very little talent.

Could almost argue this gives him SOME pieces fit the future. Because I don't see JR staying unless something drastic happens.

I'm going to reject. Smith is still one of the most valuable players on Detroit and it makes a lot more sense to have him on the team now that Rondo is there. Plus Detroit still has $20 million in cap space available anyway. With all the good players gone already I think the Pistons have enough room to improve their team and that any potential gains this deal could give aren't worth the immediate negative

I'm going to reject as well. Detroit is already a tough sell for Free Agents, no need to make it worse by dumping talent at this point.
