Do you retain second round rights over one year, right? If he is draft stash in real life.

So uh, when I drafted Cliff Alexander with pick 28, does he get automatically signed with my team? At what point does his DR turn into a contract? If he was a 2nd rounder I'd know what would happen, but this... Cliff gets paid the regular 28th pick salary. edit: so long as he keeps playing for the Nets once the season starts, I suppose SL doesn't count.

Do you retain second round rights over one year, right? You can claim a second rounder until the day before OSFA starts next year.

Whether or not the 5th Year Player Option is good or bad, I'm going to remove it from this year and we can have a proper discussion, and I will make an announcement afterwards, and it can be introduced next year at the earliest. I've removed the Player Options for this year. Just stick Qualifying offers on all the rookie deals from now on. That gives you 4 years to figure out RFA, and stop screwing tanking teams immediately.

I think if this is going to happen then it has to be done as Restricted Free Agency.
Example: * GMs will have to claim RFA rights, same way GMs claim Bird Rights.
* In the 5th year of rookies deals from now on, players will enter the Free Agent pool but will be marked as Restricted Free Agents.
* If a different team makes an offer on the player then the team who drafted the player has a certain amount of time in which to match that deal and keep the player or lose them.

RFA is pretty simple, you'll want cap holds for those players as well, that's where the QO comes in.

Is it too late to claim my second rounder that I traded for? I didn't know I was suppose to do this until now. I really want Larry nance Jr. on my team and would like to sign him to the three year contract.

OKC would like to sign Larry Nance Jr to the three year second round deal. Will process this so he's on your team, but he wont be created on the database officially for a little while, hopefully no longer than a month.

Ian NobleHelo Ian, just wanna ask if I can already sign Walter Tavares? I guess so, he has played for the Hawks, although he's recently been in the DLeague and China. He also will not be on your team until created though.

Not really sure up to when I do have his draft rights, but just to make sure: Philly claims the rights to the next Manu, Juan Pablo Vaulet until he plays in the NBA.

The Minnesota Timberwolves would like to sign Walter Tavares to the following Contract:
Year 1: $500,000 Year 2: $600,000 Year 3: $700,000
I acquired his rights from Alex later in the season. He was drafted in 2014 but Alex claimed his rights and he didn't get signed until this season with the real-life Hawks.
Thanks!

I thought it was too late to sign these guys? Wasn't July 1 the deadline? Could be wrong, just what I had in my mind.

I thought it was too late to sign these guys? Wasn't July 1 the deadline? Could be wrong, just what I had in my mind. From the conversation I had with Ian prior to OSFA beginning I was under the impression we could sign 2nd rounders from the year before until OSFA was completely over. Seeing as OSFA is still going on I was under the impression we could still sign our 2nd round picks. Hopefully, I did not misinterpret what he told me because I'd hate to lose 2 guys because OSFA dragged out longer than it was initially scheduled to, because OSFA was supposed to end July 21st according to the league schedule which is also the same date we had to sign our previous year 2nd round picks. When I asked if OSFA was going to end on July 21st like the schedule indicated Ian said it was more of a guideline and not necessarily set in stone. Guess I will wait and see what Ian says about it.
