Please post and discuss your initial reactions to the NBA Draft here.
Mine are:
The 76ers are nuts. The Knicks are pissed off. The Kings might be crazy, as George Karl wasn't pictured in the draft room. Denver got a bigger steal than Miami. Detroit is the smartest team in the draft. Some key players are sliding, and the Cavs are ready to gobble them up. Their war room is LeBron James on his leather sofa watching the draft with Adam Silver on speed dial. He will make the selection for the Cavs, and take whoever is in La Familia and repped by his people.
Sam Hinkie was on Candy Crush for the first two picks and tried to pick DeAngelo Russell twice. Then said fuck it and took a shit in his hand and threw it at the wall to a pie chart representing the other players left, the shit stuck on Okafor.

Fucking Bobby Portis could have gone to the Raptors and they passed on him! I'd be super pissed off if Masai wasn't the GM. I believe in Masai, I like Delon Wright but I could see this really looking bad in a few years.
Winslow at 10 is a huge steal for Miami.
Sacramento is a total mess.
Jerion Grant should do well in New York. He'll have the chance to start over and aging Jose Calderon.
Kaminsky is a great fit in Charlotte with Bismack to play defense and Al Jefferson seemingly on the decline. This seemed to be telegraphed by them trading away Vonleh.

And yes, Denver just got their own John Wall.
But Miami just got an athletic jabari parker at #10.

Because Okafor wasn't the best pick that the 76ers could have made.
Devin Booker's ceiling is JJ Reddick at best, overhyped Kentucky player who was wide open being guarded by the worst player typically. His floor is "Shooter" who couldn't get open because of lack of size, athleticism or creativity, basically Jimmer Freddette.
WCS went too high, he's basically DeAndre Jordan, who went like 35th or something like that and took forever to actually be good. (Most total 0's on offense don't ever make it)
Pretty sure Mudiay weighs more than WCS.
Kristaaps to NY will go down as the worst or best idea ever. You want him on a true rebuilding team I think. Not a team like NYK with all the extra pressure for no reason. Derek Fisher has no developmental track record at all.

This kid is the epitome of NYK fans. Freakin cry babies. I've been a Knicks fan for awhile but I agree, at least the majority of Knicks fans who attend the Draft. I'm half convinced they are paid actors in Knicks jerseys and the league just wants to make them continue to look like dumbasses. Not really convinced but I don't get these people. Top 3 players went in the Top 3 picks, Knicks had #4. Porzingis has, very possibly, the highest upside of anyone in the draft, especially at Pick 4. He could bust but I really like this kid's attitude and work ethic. He DREAMED and wished that he could practice in the middle of the night in Europe, but the way they have things set up over there, he couldn't. He can't wait to be able to go to the gym anytime he wants, which sounds like it will be quite often. He's also completely aware of the Euro-busts before him and called them out by name last night, he's not scared of them and he's not scared to be a new Euro big man who can shoot and actually play the game in the NBA. He wants to be HERE, not in Europe. No one convinced him to come over, he's fluent in English, he's accustomed to American culture, and he knows everyone thinks he'll be a bust and he's completely ready to shove that in their faces with his development and his game. And, he's 19 years old. Also loved the Jerian Grant trade for the Knicks, THJ isn't all that good, Grant is legit, I'm finally excited again!

What exactly are the Bucks going to regret? Passing on the best big man in the draft They need shooting and scoring. Vaughn was a pretty good pick and he's only 18. He can grow with the rest of the young team. They are looking to make a big splash in free agency for a big so that is probably why they went with the scoring guard over a big.

Those two teams always mesh together in my head.

Jeremiah and I were watching the draft. And we were like, "I bet Hinkie has been on candy crush this whole time and tries to pick Russell" I don't like the Okafor pick. I didn't have him as my best available player. And I don't think he fits with Noel and Embiid. If he was going to pick a big, I wish it would have been Zinger, as his skill set is way different than the other 2. While Okafor's offensive game is more "polished" than Noel's, and Okafor doesn't have the injuries that Embiid does, I think I would have went with Kristaps. And I bet that that would have been their pick had Embiid not had a setback. I think Embiid is the best big on that team when healthy, and I don't think it is close. His offensive game is better than Okafor's, if not the same. And his defensive game is better than Noel's. I just think the 76ers should have went with Kristaps or traded back and picked Mudiay or Winslow. I'm not an Okafor fan. I'm not a Russell or Kristaps or Winslow fan either, but I think that instead of going BoA there, they should have traded back and grabbed someone who fit as I don't think the talent gap between Okafor and Mudiay or Winslow is that big.

Okafor is better offensively and it's not even close. Maybe with their back to the basket on the low block Embiid is close to Okafor but still not better, but then facing up and from mid-range, Okafor is miles ahead.
