Announcement: 2015 Contracts
2015 will not be like normal Free Agency periods because the Salary Cap is predicted to increase by 40% to $90,000,000 next year! This year Player Agents will be keeping this in mind when negotiating contracts the same way Player Agents will be in real life. This means: 1. Big name FAs who can be offered the max next year will likely only sign 1 year deals, or 2 year deals with second-year player options (real life examples: Lebron James and Jimmy Butler).
e.g. Carmelo Anthony (LA Clippers), Lamarcus Aldridge and John Wall (Portland), Paul George (Denver), Marc Gasol (Sacramento), Demarcus Cousins (OKC)
2. Second-Tier FAs can demand huge contracts this year on long-term contracts, because the percentage of the cap they take up will diminish by almost 40% when the cap goes up (a $20m/yr contract next year is the equivalent of a $12m/yr contract this year), and Player Options in the third and fourth years of deals are looking likely also.
e.g. Rajon Rondo, Tony Parker, Rudy Gay, DeAndre Jordan, Zach Randolph, Eric Bledsoe, Gordon Hayward, Chandler Parsons, Greg Monroe, Derrick Favors
3. Salaries for other FAs are also likely to increase across the board also.
I feel like this article sums it up nicely: hoopshabit.com/2015/06/18/nba-free-agency-preview-2016-salary-cap-means-2015-market/GMs need to keep this in mind when offering contracts! This year will not be like any other year when it comes to Free Agency!

I hope that rather than just going off of assumptions, we have some PA's smart enough to wait and mimic RL contracts.
I can see some super stars signing 1 year deals, but I don't see all of them turning down long term deals. There's lots of money to be had, and I can't imagine all of them leaving it on the table and risking injury. Especially when there are guys like Bledsoe, who have a long history of injury problems. I bet Wes Matthews wishes he took an extension from last season.
Just my 2 cents

Older guys who are probably in the running for their last contracts will probably be more willing to take long maxes and younger guys who are sort of on the cusp of being OK to good will probably accept at least 3 year deals. Remember real life teams aren't going to sign guys for only two years they are going to want to at least get bird rights. That and players know that teams with bird rights can offer more money than anyone else.

There are only certain guys that are willing to take one year most won't
The assumption from the list above we have that marc gasol (30 yrs) cousins (headcase), aldridge (also 30 years) will take one year deal is ridiculous.
I can see Melo, I can see George here and even Wall, but the other guys I don't.

Because he sucked last year and he'd make like 6 million a year if he opted out. He'll play 70 games next year and trick someone into giving him a bunch of money then go back to being injured all the time.
