Wait, I am confused. I remember Grant Hill winning that award once but does it still exist?
Also, there is no way Whiteside could apply for such an award. In order to win it, you need to be good in the NBA 1st. Then, get worse. And finally, come back better than ever or close to his old shape (Gran Hill).

Or just generally come back from an injury, which applies to Len I guess.

If there was such an award, Pau Gasol probably would have been the winner.

but what about the award Grant Hill got once? Apparently, that never happened but I am sure I didn't imagine it, hahahah.
From what I read the award you brought up is the same as the most improved player award only with a different name. I mean, it was renamed at some point.

Prediction for next year:
Derrick Rose or Jabari in the East
Id say Wes in the West, but I dk if he can count? Probably Kobe tho, especially if he gets Rondo. Hell, even Rondo for COY

Whiteside did get a huge rating increase, but we did that as a league. And it might have been too early and depending on how he does next season...he might not get anotger raise. He was def too low because of his previous rating.. But he's not most improved until he proves more over a longer period of time.

He was the most improved player in 2015! From china to now averaging a career double double!

So, you think Whiteside should have won the MIP award instead of Jimmy Butler? That award usually goes to a player that had a big improvement in consecutive seasons. Hassan came back to the NBA after 3 seasons overseas. Comparing 14-15 numbers to those of 11-12 is unrealistic because it does not tell you what happened between those years.

No I compare them to the 0-0-0 numbers he had in 2014! He didn't win it because he throat punched olynyk!

Also, jumping to 20 ppg like Butler did usually helps to receive the award.

Jimmy Butler went from All Star that the media wasnt dick sucking to slightly better all star that the media was dick sucking. Better player yes? Bigger Improvement? NO!

espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/id/6430/jimmy-butlerButler had a huge improvement stats wise from 13-14 to 14-15. In exactly the same amount of minutes, he was better in every single except for steals per game but he made it to the defensive 2nd team. He had more points, better %s (2,3,ft), more assists with less turnovers, more rebounds, better defense. He was a true MIP. Whiteside was the one of the most interesting stories of the season. I give you that. But there is no official award for such thing.
