Doesn't Victor Claver still belong to Portand?

IRL, his rights do, but he's on the FA list here so I dunno how that's gonna work out.

Well, I'm interested in how the rights thing is going to work out. Pretty interested in bringing over Petteri Koponen who might finally make the jump.

To be fair, there is no rule about draft rights (at least, none that I have seen). Now, I understand those rights cannot be traded but I don’t know if every right is hold or not.

I think teams keep the draft rights of players that the real life teams have...that's why Toronto has Valanciunas...that's why Clippers has (and can not trade) that Greek Baby Shaq guy...
I'm assuming Claver being out there is just one of those things where Ian didn't really get to that yet, but we'll need to remove guys who belong to teams.
Maybe make a thread where we keep track of draft rights.

Haha. He was on the FA list, so I thought I'd give him a shot. I believe he signed an extension recently in Spain, so it would have been a long-term thing.

Hmm this is a sticky situation. Does anyone want to go through the full FAs list to see if any teams have the rights to any of those players? No? I think I'll have to do this on a player-by-player basis. Basically if a GM comes forward and says to me: "my team drafted this guy, he's just playing somewhere else right now" (like Ricky Rubio was) and can prove it then I'll add that player's name to this list where I've broken down the rule for everyone. Portland do you wish to keep Claver's draft rights?

Totally understand if Claver stays with the Blazers, 1st Rounder after all.
Edit: I could scan the list for these cases, shouldn't take any more than an hour if you give me the green light.

Well, I did a quick scan. posted it in Free Agency Discussion. Pretty short list, usual suspects in Dallas,Houston,Portland and San Antonio with the bigger picks. Claver the immediate best of the bunch in terms of ratings.
