Current Rating: 89 Suggested Rating: 86
Starting Stats: 15.8 10.5 1.3
Yes he was injured, but when he played the same minutes as other similar shitty shooting rebound hungry big men, he came out on bottom every single time.
Comparisons: Hassan Whiteside (75): 13.7, 11.8, 2.5 Andre Drummond (82): 13.8 13.5 1.9 Deandre Jordan (83): 11.5 15 2.2
All stats are only counted from games started in the 2014-2015 season.

89. Of course his stats have been down, he's been injured or coming back from an injury all year. Even with that his per 36 stats and 19 points and 13 rebounds. It's been pretty well established that we don't lower guys who are playing poorly due to injury.

He pops out an 89 rated game like once every couple weeks. He is just too inconsitent and has been for YEARS now. And per 36 stats are great and all, except they aren't great at all. Whitesides per 36 is 18-15-4 Dwight's average game is an 86. Half the time he shits out 79's and he sprinkles in 89 type performances. To make his rating in the game what his ceiling game is IRL is pretty lame.

He is averaging 20-11-1.8 in the sim, he hasn't averaged that IRL since 2011.
Does that mean nothing?

Howard has been lowered twice already since last season. Honestly don't see how he can be lowered again so quickly

It's pretty obnoxious how you bring up Whiteside in every single rating discussion. It's also insane to compare the two when Whiteside's accomplishments don't even add up to a full season and Dwight Howard's stats over the course of more than 800 games come up to 18 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. Just stop for a minute and imagine if Hassan 'I'm still a nobody' Whiteside had those numbers. You'd be losing your mind to get us to create a new rating scale so we can rate Whiteside a 110. Healthy Dwight Howard is easily an 89.

He is averaging 20-11-1.8 in the sim, he hasn't averaged that IRL since 2011. Does that mean nothing? No not really, Hasheem Thabeet is averaging 10.5 points and 11 rebounds in the sim and he's rated a 69. We'll have to lower him into the 40 to get him performing at his real life level I guess.

Oh come on, you know that's stretching it. Anyone starting will get to a stat floor because its basketball and minutes played has the strongest correlation to category stats. Getting elite numbers in the sim that hasn't been achieved in real life IN 5 YEARS is completely different from getting garbage stats on the worst team in the league.

I'd leave him at an 89 for now, just want a better read than a season with injuries, and he used to be in the 90's and has come down fairly recently as well.
