I have been debating this move for a few months now and I think this might be the right time to go ahead and do it. With that said, however, I am not upset at anybody in this league and the decision to resign as the Sacramento King's GM has more to do with my personal life. Right now, I am taking a TON of graduate hours, probably more than I should to be honest, which obviously takes up a lot of my time. Additionally, I started experiencing a pretty severe health problem since October of 2014. While I do not want to go into too much detail on a public forum like this, it keeps coming back and I am starting to wonder if stress doesn't trigger it. Since my trade with Boston, I do not possess the time nor energy to try and improve my team. Although I could probably hold on to the team and just wait until the next off-season, I don't think it's fair to people on the waiting list. Besides, I think it's best if I cut out all the extra stress for my life for the next few months. I would be willing to stay on as an adviser or assistant GM if the next GM wanted me to, but that might take away from their experience as a GM.
Unless I am in REALLY bad shape health wise, I will probably be able to come back someday. Honestly, I wish I could tell everyone my health problem because it's really scary for someone my age but it's probably better if I don't. I know we all possess different views on religion, but I would appreciate it if you could put me in your prayers.
More directly to the league itself, I really didn't know any of you besides Walt before this league started. Sure, I GMed the 76ers as Kenny Smith in the original D5 but quit after a few months. After several years, I really respect most of the original GMS like Ian, Barber, English, Danny, Troy, Iverson, Magic, Coach K, Bryan, Larry, Clyde, Blake, and even JR think a lot of the younger GMs possess a lot of talent. More than that, I consider most of the GMs in this league to be friends. Hopefully, I will get to come back but if not it's been fun and I wish the league nothing but the best.

Health wise I will pray that things turn out ok Vlade. However I have went through things And you don't want to leave a great league. Your one of the ones that Keep it real. You talked about leaving before. Hope that's true again. Check in once a month or so and keep your team. Lets see what you can do after all your moves. I personally don't want any of the other guys taking your team. Seriously Vlade. Sit back and take a break and check in every 2-3 weeks. Ian won't ask more than that. Please don't go. Do what you must and feels right but I think you can and you Are strong enough to stick it out. That is Your team!!!!

Even if Ian would agree to your proposition, I don't think it's fair when we have a lot of people want to be in the league. If the next GM wants my input, he can PM me or give me some kind of advisory title. Otherwise, I will check in from time to time but I don't want the stress of dealing with all this...honestly the Marc Gasol drama was really hard on me from a physical stand point.

I appreciate everyone's kind words! In case I wasn't clear from this post, I plan to stick around, check the site a little bit, and hopefully come back someday. I guess it could get dicey if someone else takes the Kings and then I come back but I will let Ian figure that out when the time comes; right now my health is my #1 priority and this league is stress I can afford to cut out. Again, it would make more sense if you understood what was wrong....honestly, I don't mind telling anyone in this league I just don't want it on a message board.

Sad to see you go out like this Vlade, hopefully the GM to take over your team sees the steps you have taken and realizes your vision for the Kings and fulfills it. I'll have you in my prayers. Stay strong.

Until then best of health and best of everything see u around my friend.

To young for shit like this to happen to a good guy! I hope the road to recovery is fast and pain free buddy. Life throws curve balls and just depends on how the person reacts to them and you seem to be that person who can fight whatever it is and overcome it.
I've known you since Legends, D5, pretty sure you were in RimRockers as well and its sad to see you go but I'm not saying goodbye because i know you will be back.
Pretty sure I'm the only brown guy here, so you got my million gods watching over you, as I keep you in my prayers.

I can't stand to lose a guy like you Vlade, you've done so much for this league. Most active non-staff-GM we've ever had, and third-highest number of posts. If you leave then I will be creating a new D5 Hall of Fame with you as the first inductee.
I would be happy to give you months of downtime if you need. In fact I think I will not fill your post for at least a month just in case you change your mind. Just say the word, there's nothing set in stone yet.
The basis to everything else in life is the health to enjoy it, I hope you can beat what's causing you suffering.

Vlade, I really don't know what to say man. Everyone here has said so much, I've liked a lot of posts that I have similar feelings about.
We go way back. Legends, RimRockers, Great Debate, many others, fantasy football (and briefly basketball!), etc, etc, etc.
Come talk to me man, I haven't said much on here because it doesn't feel like the right way for us to talk, you know? I'll be on AIM, I use it for Fantasy Sports still, so look for me on there and let's talk soon!

Wow, this is a good way to make a person cry! Thank you everyone! PS. It's not anxiety, Kevin. See you can't leave. You will be active. Just check in once a week. Its a law of the league that Vet gms must be inactive for more than 30 days for their team to be given away. It won't happen. So rest up and check in less and don't post unless it's a must ok. Law is law.

It's really crazy to think how long a lot of us have been in these leagues together. D5 started in 2007, and I know many of us were in leagues for at least 2 years before that. Thats 10 years... thats a significant portion of any person's life. I feel like I know you guys better than I know a lot of people in real life. I've gone from a highschool sophomore to college to grad school and now to a career, and you all have been there the entire time. We go through all these things in real life, but at the end of the day we can always log on to D5 and it is more or less the same.
We have these relationships, we argue, we laugh, we cry. We have this whole little community of our own. And Vlade is a huge part of that community, which I think is a sentiment being echoed in this thread, and which is why it is so tough to see a situation like this occur.

Hello all,
It comes as an honor and also a curse to take this job as one of my longest online friends is battling an illness. My name is TB but in this league I will go by Juan Dixon to bring me back to a time where Basketball was all that mattered. If Ian allows me to, I will take over the job(Temporarily of course) as GM of the Sacramento Kings. Vlade and I have had a discussion that gives me free reign as GM for the next few months, in an intern basis. I have missed Simulation leagues over the past few years and am eager to get my start back, even temporarily, as a GM of a very good team already assembled by a great man. I have said my prayers for the man you all call Vlade and I will continue to do so until we get him back to 100%. Also, I will be a little bit more difficult to deal with than Vlade, I do believe. I have a set belief of what a BASKETBALL team is supposed to be assembled with. Right now we've got some really good pieces on this roster and are looking to make some moves, but we will not sacrifice the work that Vlade put in before. We will trust in his vision, all while implementing a new, bold, strategy.
