As the guy who drafted Exum I worry about him. He has no aggression to his game at all, like on one end of the scale you have Russell Westbrook and the other you have Exum. I knew drafting him that he was a project though, it looks like American players are more aggressive than other world players in general. I knew Dante would take a year or two but at this rate he's looking like a Devin Harris ceiling or something. Alternatively at #4 in 2014 my other options were my next best pick (in my opinion at the time) Vonleh, whose been ignored cos he's hardly even played, Smart who I see as a good player but inevitable career non-achiever or LaVine but I put too much faith in the reports of other scouts to pick him at #4, looking back though it would've been amazing to take that leap of faith and have it pay off with a guy whose much more aggressive although just as raw. Mumble mumble mumble. Kinda sucks I'll be wanting to win more next year but Dante's decrease will not happen until then

Lots of guards struggle when they come into the league, especially PGs, because the game moves faster compared to college. And Exum didn't even have that. Right now, I'd rather have Exum over Burke, and the Jazz will see this and you'll see Exum getting more playing time and adjusting into his role next season. He has Gobert-Favors-Hayward-Burks to defer to. He doesn't need to be aggressive, he just needs to be a good decision maker with the ball in his hands. Where as Trey Burke has completely failed at what he was supposed to do, make three's and set people up.

We still have a fair amount of D5 season left, I wouldn't mind still adjusting rookies, we just have plenty of other ratings left to do!

VA = Value Added is the estimated number of points a player adds to a team’s season total above what a "replacement player" (for instance, the 12th man on the roster) would produce. Value Added = ([Minutes * (PER - PRL)] / 67). PRL (Position Replacement Level) = 11.5 for power forwards, 11.0 for point guards, 10.6 for centers, 10.5 for shooting guards and small forwards.
Exums Value added was: -130.3
The next lowest was Kirk Hinrich at -88.4 and the next lowest was Dante Cunningham at -62.4
Exum was really really really really bad. He was 130.3 points worse than an average 12th man on a roster. In 82 games played at 22 mpg, thats enough of a sample size to make him below a 70.

He's bad. 68. I still think he's got great potential. He's basically a foreign Shaun Livingston so naturally he's not as used to physicality or playing any defense. Look for him to take a big jump next season.
