The fact that anyone says he has a negative effect on the offense just makes me realize you guys have no idea what you're talking about. You're all good at being really loud in these threads, but not good at being very smart

ITT: people who have never watched a Hornets game Josh's use of statistics is limited to surveying 10 totally real and not-made-up people. 10 is a number, so its a stat, right??

ITT: people who have never watched a Hornets game It's OK to be a fan of a player but you are delusional if you think he is as good of an overall player as Draymond Green. Anderson Varejao is my favorite player on my favorite team but I don't sit around comparing him to Marc Gasol.

MKG averaged a double-double in January. As a small forward. I know I'm nitpicking but that's not actually true. He averaged 11.4 points and 9.4 rebounds in January. It's funny to me that Walt brings up steals and blocks when 10 out of 10 people would agree that MKG is a better defender than Green. It's not always about stats guys, sometimes you actually have to watch people play to see how good they are I agree MKG is a better defender, and I agree watching someone is extremely important, but this argument is also subjective and impossible to disprove. It ultimately boils down to opinion and it's hard to explain to another person how you see someone with your own eyes. The eye test can also be misleading. Damian Lillard has made some huge clutch buckets and you'd think he's a great guy to go to with the game on the line. But he's actually just a 42.8% shooter overall and shoots only 39.1% in clutch situations. Stats don't tell the whole story but neither do your eyes.

Also need to change his three point frequency. Over 1/3 of his shots are threes here, he has shot 0 in real life this year.

up my vote by 1.
Not shooting any 3s for a whole season as an SF takes a lot of guts.

up my vote by 1. Not shooting any 3s for a whole season as an SF takes a lot of guts. It actually shows how weak of a player He is. Smart maybe. But afraid to up his game and increase his skills...and not take even one...he is just a weak nba player who will fail..

Yea I mean, if he's taking 0 3's, he's going to get the big man treatment and get a zero rating for his 3pt shot, which will take points away.
Now, if he needs it, we can just put those points elsewhere. But if he's already solid in his other areas of his ratings, then that would just drop his rating. Haven't looked at him, don't know what his 3pt is...or what his other ratings are...but yea. Something to consider.

weak JR? come on man. This guy has gone from not being able to hit a jumper to being the best mid-range shooter on the Hornets outside of Hendo. He is still only 21 and just keeps getting better and better.
There's a bunch of advanced stats that show how good the Hornets are with him on vs. off the floor, but I'm too lazy to post them all

Stolen from a Reddit post:
We're giving up 95.9 points per 100 possessions with MKG on the court and 103.8 points with him on the bench. That would be the difference between the league's best defensive team (Golden State is first at 97.6) and the 20th best defensive team (Phoenix is 19th at 103.7).

Kemba Walker makes the Hornets worse :/ I strongly disagree. The only time they win games is when he is on fire. He's westbrook-lite-lite.
