Not under my control man. whos call is it? Our all-powerful ruler who rules all, rules this as well. It's his call. It's not a big enough deal for me to make a fuss about it, just my opinion that everyone can and should know and it won't cause a huge issue. As long as everyone agrees not to nit-pick over 1-5 points here or there on certain attributes. That could get us into ridiculous conversations that eat up all of our time. Way more so than what we have now, for the record.

Yeah my only concern would be the amount of analness everyone would experience from everyone else. The information itself though would be invaluable to rating... pretty sure everyone agrees now that kyle korvers rating should hardly change.

Fairness to the league would be to allow that info to be shared openly with all GMs! I think its one of those steps that make the league that much better...just like adding the stock watch..and adding real life injuries. The only GM that should know more than the next person is Ian. Thr rest of us need to be equal..and havd the same info..

The information itself though would be invaluable to rating... pretty sure everyone agrees now that kyle korvers rating should hardly change. Yea agreed, I actually have to go back and change my suggested rating too! I am all for everyone knowing the ratings and the updated ratings, as long as everyone can be big boys (and girls?) and accept the new ratings without too much of a fuss over every single little rating point. I am very confident myself and the other members of the RC are doing a great job at fixing and adjusting players as needed with these rating changes. An increase of a player's rating does NOT automatically mean we can not take certain attributes down if they were clearly a problem before. Same in the reverse. I know on Kyrie's 1-point decrease coming up, we actually increased a few categories that were just too low, and are taking down other areas that were way too high. It all balances out. Things like Player "Style" and also 3PT% (which is the % of 3's taken out of a player's total shots, not their actual 3pt%) are big factors that we are fixing on almost every player. Especially their 3PT% of shots taken. We have seen guards listed as "big men with a mid-range shot" as their style of play. Quite often, really. We have also seen players who shoot from 3 40+% of the time listed at only 1-3%!!! So, we are really making huge fixes to these ratings, and whether we could make changes slightly differently in the individual areas, it is really just nitpicking. We're getting things pretty well fixed with the more ratings we change/fix! I would hate for our time to be focused fighting over an 85 O-Aware vs. an 89 O-Aware and a 55 Dribble vs. a 51 Dribble or something stupid.

And you guys are doimg awesome Walt. The ratings and stock watch have come far. I just think some info and changes to our league need to be done openly And if there is something drastically being changed it should be noted..even if we have no Say in the decision. Just so we as a league are on the same page. Again thanks Walt and Ian for your work. If there was one GM and someone had to take over the league or as a Co-Admin it would be you. If i could deal with you and stay...whole different story...lol

I agree it's fair, though I still stand by I don't use these ratings to analyze trades, EVER. I look at real-life #'s and potential, plus salaries, and that's it. But anyway, we would just need to watch out for people trying to micromanage ratings. Also, if someone is up for a 5+ point increase or decrease, there will be big changes somewhere. Just has to be. If it's 2 or 1 point change, it's going to be incredibly minor. Just know we are making changes based on real-life #'s, so if anything changes IRL, it will change in our game if the player has a rating thread.

I understand the hesitancy in releasing full player ratings... it will make this rating change process more difficult, and put more backlash towards Walt. But there has to be a huge huge huge advantage in trade negotions for people with access to these. When I traded with Denver did I get super fucked by giving him Johnson for Allen? Only a few people know for sure, and when one of them is in the trade, if becomes ridiculously unfair. I echo Walt's sentiments, I have never looked at the database when making trades, or even being in negotiations. The players are who you think they are. If Wiggins is this crazy athletic dude, that's how he is built. If Korver is the best shooter in the league, thats how he is. Opening up the database would further clog the rating change system. There'd be too many people asking for increases in certain areas and people giving their opinions on certain attributes. You just have to trust Walt, Alex, and me. We don't comb through the database looking for the certain player ratings because we know that who they are in the game is who they are in real life. If we all agree that CP3 is the best "floor general" PG in the league, than you can bet that he has the highest Offensive Awareness in our database.
