Pelicans Trade:
79 Jameer Nelson $11,000,000 $11,000,000(TO) 80 Kenneth Faried $2,249,768 $3,257,664 78 Greivis Vasquez $3,203,780 GSW 2015 1st CHA 2015 1st NOP 2015 2nd
Jazz Trade:
81 Jeff Teague $9,750,000 $10,140,000 $10,545,600 $10,967,424 $11,406,121 74 Al-Farouq Aminu $5,054,463 Utah 2016 2nd
I accept. Its time to start moving some of my chips to the middle of the table. I never planned on picing 4 guys in the first round as a simply do not have enough space on my roster. While I really love Faried and the Nuggets showed a big leap of faith in him by signing his extension this fall, I also love Teague. The picks were brutal to give up as was Vasquez who really is the ideal bench player, but I already had too many picks and wanted to cash them in a little early.
The negotiations were tough but pleasure to work with you Adam.

As the next-to-last team in the West, even though my team looked like it had talent, there was no way I was making the playoffs in the next few years standing pat, and no chance of making it out of the first round in any foreseeable future. It's time to play the lottery.
Nelson and Vasquez give me over $25 million dollars going into next year, and pending one more trade that should be almost completed, I will be able to offer 2 max contract this year, and then having Thaddeus young come off the books, should be able to keep Kenneth Faried after that. Then all I have to do is hit on one or two of my picks, and I have a playoff-bound team with future championship aspirations.

What happened to that rule about GMs not being able to trade their first week?

Feel like Teague is going way way too cheap here. Just my 2 cents Didn't realize faried was in the deal when I said this. But still, Faried isn't on a BR deal so that's gonna be rough resigning him when the cap jumps up like crazy.

Well then I, speaking for the league, reject this trade.

I totally understand why Brian was probably reluctant to give what he's giving, but I have to say, Teague should fetch a little more than this. Especially something at least somewhat established AND on a Bird Rights deal.
I'm going to hope that we're saving the new Utah GM from himself by rejecting, and hope he gets more elsewhere.
Reject.

I was originally trying to get Collison and Faried and a 1st but he told me that was too much, I thought it seemed about right to me...

Really hard to say for each manager what is fair or not, so I don't fault Brian here. I think that would pass, but we won't know until it's put up. And of course you'd have to convince Brian to do it first :-p

I mean if the trade committee wants to reject this one, go ahead. Of all the trades I made, this one probably make me wonder the most. But I'm very paranoid of almost everything I do. And, I'm not the highest on teague 4-5 years from now. But I guess when the cap goes up his deal is going to look super sexy... I'm not so sure. Everyone seems to be saying I'm getting it up the bum, though.

Teague is probably the most valuable guy on your team. Great contract, young, and his rating is on the rise. He has all the qualifications that GMs look for to make him super valuable

I think talent wise this trade is acceptable. But since Vasquez is expiring and Utah won't have Bird rights for Faried this could really screw the Jazz up long term. Especially considering that Jeff Teague has continuously improved since coming into the league. He might not even have peaked yet. I'll put in a reject on this one.

Long term the Pelicans win this trade too much, it's Utah's first week and he's trading away point-guard-du-jour Jeff Teague. I reject.
Trade rejected.
