Dwight Howard
Current Rating: 90 Suggested Rating: 87
The argument:
Dwight Howard isn't playing like the top center in the NBA anymore, I'd probably put Drummond ahead of him right now. Drummond's play has been solid since Josh Smith left, and Cousins is well ahead of Howard right now. Some will say Howard's scoring is down because he is playing with James Harden. But, Howard hasn't averaged over 20 points per game since his days in Orlando, and that was 3 years ago.
His current stats: 16.8 PPG/ 11.3 RPG/ 1.3 AST/ 1.6 BLK/ 0.7 STL however it is on 58.2% shooting. And he is still awful from the FT line.

I agree with this one. I still think Howard is good, but not better than Gasol or Cousins. I will give him an 87 too.

90 seems ok. this is a little reactionary its only 30 games in and he was hurt for a lot of it so Id cut him some slack. He was 90 level last year

If that isn't a 90 i'm not sure what is.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. I'll admit when I am wrong.

89 from me, he's still great but we can drop him out of the 90s bracket.

I voted an 85 before but that's too low and I need to be consistent with my ratings. I am going to say an 87 BUT I think his offense should be drastically lowered.

for the record, this isn't a direct attack at you. I am just trying to summone the changing of the guard at the center position with Cousins and Howard. And that Pau thread was way old, and I need to go change my vote, becuase he is playing very well in Chicago.

Charles, believe me I dont take it that way at all.
I don't disagree that Cousins should be higher as I voted him a 90 as well. Yes Howard's totals are down, but I feel like a guy that has proven the ability to lead a team to the playoffs multiple times and even a Finals appearance should get a little benefit of the doubt. Now granted Houston got bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs last year by a solid Portland team, but Howard put up some pretty impressive numbers in that series last year.
2013/14 Playoffs: 26 ppg - 13.7 rpg - 2.8 bpg - 54% FG - 62% FT
His career numbers in the playoffs are right around 20/14/2.5 and I feel like guys that not only help get their teams to the playoffs, but also produce while there should get a slight edge over guys that don't or rarely help their teams get to the playoffs. Point being is that yes his totals are slightly down from where they were that got him rated a 92, but the overall impact he has on the game wont always show up in a box score. Im biased because he's on my team but I feel based on the level hes currently playing at combined with what he has proven over a 10 year career he deserves to be rated at 90 where he currently is.
I know some people disagree but I agree with Josh when it comes to guys producing while helping their team win games and I think that should be reflected somewhere in a player's rating.
On an unrelated note, how has nobody EVER created a stockwatch for Dirk?

going with 86.
Other than his numbers, his PER and WS are down too.
Bulk of the decrease should be on: FG, IS, Blk
