Once again the Cavs prove everyone right and do some stupid ass shit. This does nothing to move the needle for this team. Dion is a scape goat, next it will be Delly's fault. Not the players we are spending over 15 million on this year. Bunch of fucking morons, they shoulda told LeBron to suck cock before letting him back on the team so he can loaf on defense and do nothing. After we let out two legit 7 foot players go for practically nothing. This welcome back to reality Jeremiah, Cavs are a bunch of impatient dipshits who don't know shit about how to manage a basketball team. Chris Grant was lucky he got out while he could.

Don't completely write off Iman Shumpert who they are getting in this deal. He's pretty solid! Could do some really good stuff next to LeBron and Kyrie.

It wasn't Kyrie, it was Waiters. The problem with the Cavs is that they went balls to the wall and signed all these shitty veteran guys like Marion, Jones, Miller, and traded for Haywood. When they had Dion Waiters to play the 2. They didn't need this bench depth because those guys listed above suck dick. LeBron is a terrible GM, and he needs to stick to playing basketball. Another problem with the Cavs is that LeBron has his championships and doesn't really care to win more, he just wanted to come home and get paid as much as possible the next 10 years. He is also afraid of being injured and run down like Kobe and Garnett, which is what happens when you play all these minutes. Another thing, the NBA recently started testing for HGH. Then LeBron "changes his diet". I mean, there's a reason he isn't as big and fast and strong as he was last year, and there's a reason he was going bald at 21.

Holy crap the baldness in addition to the other slightly coincidental factors. Whilst I was in India I met a weirdo who took steroids at a hotel in Agra (of Taj Mahal fame). He was going bald at 26 because of it.

Shumpert will help out the Cavs because it allows them to hide Irving on defense. They still need a dominant post defender to hide Love (really what they need is an athletic guy who is good at weak-side rotation), but this is a start

And this season, he's actually not been terrible, the effort is there and everything. The problem is that in the NBA anyone can get passed anyone. Its the help defense that matters more than perimeter defense (you need someone to hedge your guy towards) and this does nothing. Shumpert looks like a much better basketball player than he really is.

Especially at the point guard position where so many guys are just unguardable one on one. It's good help defense and proper rotations that create a good defensive team.

Iman Shumpert also looked way better when he could hedge people into Tyson Chandler.

Shumpert is a better fits cavs right now.
Let us not judge the trade this early. Let us see some results first.

I think it's from both talent and rule changes. This is the strongest the point guard position has ever been. They're also too fast and too good to be held up without the hand check. Since they changed that rule the defense is at a huge disadvantage. If the defender can't keep they're feet in front of their man then it's over, and that's a nearly impossible task against these super athletes.

I think the Cavs messed up when they traded Wiggins for Love.

Like I said before the season- Irving and Love are certified losers. These "stars" are some of the losingest players in the NBA and really don't contribute to a winning environment.
As for the Shumpert defense thing, I think you guys are correct to an extent. Individual defense is pointless if there is no team defense. 80% of defense is rotations and team unity, but that other 20% is just having longer arms, being more athletic, and giving more energy than the person you're guarding.

I think the Cavs messed up when they traded Wiggins for Love. Now they have Shumpert though who can be less of a perimeter defender. That wasn't their only bad move, the worst moves were surrounding their team with old, worn down, veterans who can't play anymore because they felt they should try to win RIGHT NOW even though LeBron preached patience in his letter.

That wasn't their only bad move, the worst moves were surrounding their team with old, worn down, veterans who can't play anymore because they felt they should try to win RIGHT NOW even though LeBron preached patience in his letter. Initially, I envisioned the following line up for the Cavs: PG: Irving SG: Waiters SF: Wiggins PF: Lebron C: Vareajo This team could really get out and run while also creating pressure on the defensive end. To the latter point, while Irving, Waiters, and maybe even Wiggins are crappy half-court defenders, they would thrive in a pressure-orientated defense style of play because of their athleticism. Besides, Wiggins in the future may become a SUPER STAR that far surpasses Kevin Love. PS. I do agree with you, Chuck, about Cleveland surrounding their team with old players. Then again, it's only Marion, Miller, and Jones from what I've seen. With all of this said, however, Lebron needs to play better no matter the supporting cast.

Just traded two first round picks for Timofey Mozgov... Well, at least we all know Timofey Mozgov tries to protect the rim. Should solve the weak side help problem, but I still don't like them giving up their future for HIM. Especially when LeBron is off the HGH.
