The fact that a team thought this guy was so bad they had to release him and we have him as an 85 is a joke. But I'm also going to back this up with some disgusting JSmoove stats. He's been awful this year by far the worst of his career, and my blind grandmother could have better percentages then him.
2013-14: 16.4 PPG 6.8 RPG 3.3 APG 41.9 FG% 53.2 FT% 26.4 3P% 3.5 three pointers taken per game 14.1 PER
2014-15: 13.1 PPG 7.3 RPG 4.5 APG 39.1 FG% 48.3 FT% 22.5 3P% 1.3 three pointers taken per game 14.1 PER
He has awful shot selection, in case most people were wondering I dont think I've ever seen a big man shoot below 40% from the field, maybe Kwame Brown did one year. He has some talent but based on his percentages, his advanced stats, which all hate him, and the fact that a team chose to eat the money in his contract as no team in the NBA would even trade for this guy we have to lower him.
Current Rating: 85
Suggested Rating: 80
I really think even that's being generous

I think an 80 is alright. He still has a ton of talent. His problem is between his ears.

FG & O. Aware should be killed and maybe a little bit of his athleticism at this point... Definitely not an 85. I feel like even if you love the guy, 82 is about his top end. Personally...

I have been arguing for Smoove's decrease for a looong time now. I think 81 is definitely fair, BUT, I think that it may be worthwhile waiting maybe a month? just to see how he adjusts to his new role in Houston. If he somehow gets it together on a top-Western team, I could see him maintaining an 82-84 rating, he really is a special talent. The JR Smith of big men, except possibly even with less BB IQ.

FWIW I would prefer we wait until near the end of January to really get almost all of these threads up, but I also think I'll forget to vote on them if I don't do it while they are fresh. I agree with you, and everyone can update their suggestions as/if things change. Or we start a new thread...? Really be better to just wait but yea.

I'd like to vote an 80 for right now. But like Alex said, his problem is between his ears, his talent is still there. He could turn it around and that would make me adjust my vote, but an 80 for now.

My vote is an 80. May have the talent, but guys like this never turn it around. Looking at you, Josh Gordon.

Yea, I hate when people have different opinions than me. Best option is to discourage them from participating and attack their character.

Yea, I hate when people have different opinions than me. Best option is to discourage them from participating and attack their character. Ah yes, you are quite the expert at that. The continued way off the wall ratings with minimal explanations, if any, have become slightly suspicious to me to be honest. It does feel like you are "clowning" the league or "trolling". Which, would be incredibly unproductive and disrespectful to the league if so. If you really do feel the way your ratings say, fine, but a little explanation from the guy who is consistently 3-5 points different from everyone else, every once in awhile, would be nice.

His stats is really awful. As well as the performance of his team.
I will go with 80. Bulk of the decrease should should be on OA, DA, FG, and IS

Last Call for ratings and updated ratings! Looking at an 80. I just want to say that i truly believe you guys are lowering his rating way too soon. Come playoff time he may have his better games and might be the sole reason the Rockets knock of one of the other better teams. I feel he still has the talent. More like an 85 rating. He is still an nba starter. Yes Det is playing more free now and look great or alot better at times but that is not because he sucked or was bad or lost talent. The players placed around him were more for each other than they were for him. They rebuild around the other younger players and not Josh. He was added to the team because of his D and who he was. He was not the right piece and he did not fit that style or with that group. In HOU he fits better but that teams options are still more so around Harden, etc. I just feel he deserves a wait on a major decrease until after the playoffs. I know we can just adjust later but if he truly is still a starter type player we should not be decreasing it now and hurting that GM. We have a few other players in this position and its not fair to the player or GM in our league. He may fit this leagues team better than IRL. Maybe if we would look at IRL if DEN roster was real how Josh would fit and play. We can do that on all players but certainly more so players of his talent and caliber. He is not old old yet, nor has he lost his game like Mike Miller or Marion or Garnett for example. Thats just how i feel. I just think its unfair to Joshs takents, the league GM(that roster that relies on his overall skills and true talent) and should wait until after the playoffs.
