Current Rating: 80 Suggested Rating: 74
Here is my argument: Ray Allen was known for doing one thing on an elite level: shooting the three. He no longer does it at that level.
JJ Redick is known for shooting 3's as well, he is rated a 77.
JJ Redick last year from 3: 2.1 3PM, 5.3 3PA, 39.5% from 3 Ray Allen last year from 3: 1.6 3PM, 4.2 3PA, 37.5 % from 3
Ray Allen: 45% FG%, 1.6 FTA JJ Redick: 44% FG%, 3.0 FTA
They both shoot 90% from the line, Ray's 3PT shooting is down, way down. And the argument against is that his USG% is down, and his minutes are down. But can a 40 year old guard play those minutes a night? No. You can go ahead and say his Per 36 is good, but that doesn't matter if he can't play 36 minutes a night. Why does this matter? Would Ray have done better? Who knows. But what we do know, is that he was worse than Redick from 3.
Ray Allen no longer deserves to be an 80. The players who are rated below him, are much better all around players than him, and the players rated an 80 are much better player than him.
It is time to face the facts, go look at their advanced stats and compare them, look at the spread sheet I have created for you all to compare this seasons stats because that is what ratings should be based off of. It isn't about who he was, it is about who he is. And who he is is an old man who can't play anymore. This may all be for not if he retires. But he isn't and 80 anymore, and I hope you all see that.

I think 74 is too extreme but I also think 80 is too high.
From just the raw stats across the board, his #'s are not that far down considering he's playing less minutes. I DO agree that there is a reason he's playing less minutes, but (I don't have a ton of time to go into everything) quite simply, his stats aren't down quite far enough for me to go 74 yet.
I'm going to put 76.

He sucks on D and isn't that great anymore. Hes still an elite 3 pt shooter which on my scale makes him a 75

is their a hidden skills that point out to experience in NBA live? Not that I'm aware of right now...Ian could shed more light on that but I don't think so. Maybe keeping Awareness high while lowering other stats is the closest we could get to giving a guy "experience" points.

He battled many wars already.

Bump. Shouldn't be able to be on a roster, or his rating needs to come down. I will vote a 75 since all he can do is shoot a three at this age.

Bumping again, we need more votes on him right now, so we can process this faster. The faster we receive the votes, the faster we can implement the changes.
