Kevin Garnett
Current Rating: 80
Suggested Rating: 77
In Sim Averages: 12 ppg, 47% FG, 7.6 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.02 spg, 1.07 bpg
Real life Averages: 7ppg, 44% FG, 7.0 rpg, 1.5 apg, .8 spg, .7 bpg
I was actually expecting to destroy Kevin Garnett here like Jason Terry level destroy. But to be honest he played shortened minutes in real life (20mpg) and if you put that to what he was averaging in the Sim his decline hasn't been a precipitous as I was thinking.
I would say we should lower some athleticism stats. Lower a bit of injury stat, and take his mid range shooting down a hair and then bounce him back up if he can stay healthy and proves it was just a bad shooting year.

Garnett definitely isn't an 80 anymore.
I will vote him a 74. Mason Plumlee did basically the same thing and is rated a 71.

I almost want to make changes to certain areas first and then figure out my OVR rating, but I think I'm in the 76-77 range going on what I'm thinking in my head for his changes.

He was pretty ineffective this year on the Nets. I'll actually go 75

KG is a sure Hall of Famer.. It seems experience is not a part of the game so I believe for a great player like KG, a rating beginning with 7 is really low.. I vote for an 80

I vote for an 80 Go back and look at the stats, I'm being REALLY generous with a 77. Statistically he was in like the bottom 5 bigs last season.

If only the game has a hidden ratings or skill for experience, it will be okay. But I believe there is none. KG has battled many wars already, I believe the only big men that can much his experience right now is Tim and Dirk. 80 is still fair for me. Andray Blatche has better stats than him. But what do you think is the reason why Garnett was still the starter? It is because of experience and it does not have the value in the sim. And the only way we can value it are the player ratings..

The problem is that stats are the major thing we have to go off of here. There really isn't anything to say other than Garnett was really bad. I'm already giving him the major benefit of the doubt by saying 77 instead of say 73-74. The only other thing that you can go off of is the eye test, and every game I saw him in he looked like I guy who was struggling to compete and was having a hard time finishing shots he normally would. I like Garnett he's one of my favorite players (despite playing for a rival of my favorite team) but unfortunately he was NOT even close to being good last season.

I do not watch BKN's game but why then does Jason Kidd started him in all of his games if he is that bad..

Blatche and Plumlee were much more effective as a frontcourt. I think with Plumlee emerging and Brook Lopez coming back, KG would only start this year as a tribute to his career. He definitely isn't getting more PT than Plumdog tho.
