1st team
LeBron Howard Ibaka Paul Tony Allen
2nd team Kobe Rondo Chandler (DPOY) Garnett Deng
Anyone else see a problem where the DPOY is not on the first team?

Pretty stupid that Howard is on 1st team. It's best defensive center, not best center. And he's slowly losing that title as well.

I agree that placing Chandler on the 2nd Team All-Defense after he received the DPOY Award was stupid. However, as far as your comment, all D12 can do is play defense. If he is not the best defensive center by leaps and bounds (no pun intended) then he simply is not the best center in the league.

Dwight can at least score on more than hustle baskets and alley-oops. Dwight can carry a game offensively. Doubt you can expect Chandler to do that.
On defense, Dwight wins the numbers game, but Chandler can change a defense. He covers his teammates' screw-ups, tells everyone where they should be and just overall, can change the culture of a team - i.e. Dallas and to a lesser extent, the Knicks(But c'mon, how much defense do you expect an Anthony and Stoudemire led team to play.).

Dwight is not a scorer period, the Hawks proved that 2 years when they beat Orlando in the first round. Now I agree with what you say about Chandler. Most people would probably vote for Bynum as the best center in the league, but I am going to throw my endorsement to MARC GASOL!!!!!!!!

The reason why Chandler is on the 2nd Defensive Team is because the writers vote for DPOY whereas coaches vote for the teams.

Dwight: 54 games, 20.6 ppg, 14.5 rpg, 2.1 bpg, 1.5 spg
Chandler: 62 games, 11.3 ppg, 9.9 rpg, 1.4 bpg, 0.9 spg
Dwight was clearly better. They just didn't want to give it to him again when he has so much controversy surrounding him. Chandler was the wrong second choice though, if they weren't going to give it to Dwight again then it should have gone to Ibaka or even LeBron.

They vote based on reputation (see Dirk getting an All-star reserve spot. IMO the coaches should be stripped of both the decision for the all-star reserves and the all-defensive teams.
