The Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans have reached an agreement. The terms of this agreement are as follows:
The Houston Rockets Receive: 83 Rudy Gay $19,317,325
The New Orleans Pelicans Receive: 78 Brandon Bass $6,950,000 32nd Pick 2014 Draft 2015 1st Round Pick GSW
Works because I will be under the cap after this trade.
I accept. I need to try to put young players around Rose to allow us to be competitive. Rudy Gay can operate on the wing and free up some space in the middle for our big men. Worst case scenario, Rudy is a one year rental that helps us be more competitive in the West.

What's the reasoning here though Mr Scalabrine? If I can get six first round picks for Rajon Rondo you could probably get a lot more for Rudy Gay.

Well Rudy Gay has only one year on his current deal, so he is a lot less valuable as Rondo had at least 2 from what I remember. I did a trade with Gortat mid season last year and I only got 1 1st round pick so in this trade I get what I consider 2 as I see Stokes as a 1st round talent.
I also have no need for Rudy and will not be resigning him after the season anyway since Gordon Hayward will be playing the SF position for me and Rudy really isnt the PF. So basically I get assets for a guy I was going to let walk in a year and whose play this year would not have made a noticeable difference as the team I have now is not even close to making it into the Western Conference Playoffs.

What's the reasoning here though Mr Scalabrine? If I can get six first round picks for Rajon Rondo you could probably get a lot more for Rudy Gay. When I traded away Rondo and Bradley together I held off on including Bradley for as long as possible, until I knew it was the difference between getting 4 picks in return or 6 (1st round) picks! So you can definitely get more for him. The always humble Mr. Noble I could never match your long line of successes Billy. Trade passed.
