Deron WilliamsI'm not gonna list all his stats, but he really downgraded this season. He's been on a downward trend since his departure from Utah, hampered by lingering ankle injuries and fluctuating weight. This year, he only scored 14.3 points at a decent percentage (45% meh), 6.1 assists(almost 2 below his career average), and he's about to turn 30. He only registered a PER of 17.6 this year, although his TS% and eFG% were somewhat passable. I'm not saying Deron needs a huge decrease but 87 is just way too high for someone playing like him. I see him as a solid 84 at this point.

I agree with you about him probably needing to be lower than an 86, but when Walt was killing everyone's hopes and dreams, Deron went from a 90 to an 86.
I would go 84 on him.

I think we are giving him too much credit. Even at that solid percentage 14.3 Ppg is pretty terrible and the rest of his stats aren't that impressive. I don't think he's in the same breath as guys like lillard, wall, conley, kyrie anymore. 82

Just been looking through and updating my big "Rating Change Summary" thing. We need more votes on this, and I personally think it's just a little too soon to lower him again...but if he sucks this year again then I'd definitely be on the wagon to drop him down to the 82-83 range.
For now, no rating from me though.

I agree with Walt here, I would give him a low rating in the 80's based off his performance this season but I would want him to repeat it at least one more year to guarantee his decline.

I have some stats on D-Will, I will post them eventually and give my point. Just so we don't move to vote between now and tomorrow.

His situation in Brooklyn this year was very meh.. I'd say 83 or 84 would reflect last season well, but he might eat the chip if Brook is healthy this season.

Ok, so, I thought I had some cool stats about how he played from the 2012-2013 All-Star break to the 2013-2014 All-Star break, but I didn't. What I thought was that stint was his bad time and it dropped down his numbers. But I couldn't find them.
Anyways, with the newly form Stock Watch Committee, I assume that rating changes will be implemented in a timely fashion, as soon as everything gets caught up. Because of this, my philosophy on ratings has changed.
If a player played like an 84, he gets to be an 84. There should be no benefit of the doubt anymore, unless injuries played a part, then it is up to discussion. I say that there should be no benefit of the doubt anymore because if a player comes back and performs well, the SWC will raise him. That is the way I picture things working in my mind.
A perfect example is Deron Williams. A once elite point guard, stricken by ankle injuries and coaching changes. And, let's face it, he never really seemed like a "team guy". I guess this off-season is the first time he is actually having ankle surgery, if I remember correctly.
The guy was a 19 and 8 player in 2012-2013, but this year, he was a 14 and 6 guy. Perfectly average, run of the mill year.
Jrue Holiday was a 15 and 8 guy, and is rated an 83. To me that seems low. D-Wil was 14 and 6.
My new rating on Deron Williams is an 82. Average starter. Thats what he was this year, an average starter.
In the instance that D-Will comes back and kills it for 40 games, we make a thread, and the SWC brings him back up. That is the way I imagine this working, in my head. That the SWC will be on top of rating changes.
I put my faith in them. I no longer give players the benefit of the doubt that they will turn it around because there is no need to give them the benefit of the doubt. If they turn it around, the SWC will adjust the rating.

I agree with Walt here, I would give him a low rating in the 80's based off his performance this season but I would want him to repeat it at least one more year to guarantee his decline. But why wait? He had a poor year. Give him that rating he deserves. If he turns it around, the SWC will turn his rating around. There is no longer this awkwardly long implementation process once things get caught up. What I am saying is that, we give these players the benefit of the doubt, and that we want to wait and see if he can get better. But, with the new SWC, you aren't giving Walt, James, and Alex the benefit of the doubt, us other GMs the benefit of the doubt, that we will go in, make the thread, cast our votes, and then have it be changed. I trust Walt and the Gang to implement change quicker than I trust a 30 year old PG with bad ankles to right the ship of his career. Have a little faith Clyde, won't you please?
