Current Rating:75 Suggested Rating: 83 Statistics for this most recent season 2013-2014: MP | FG% | 3P% | FT% | RBD | AST | STL | BLK | TO | PTS | 32.9 | .477 | .357 | .772 | 4.7 | 5.5 | 1.6 | .3 | 3.3 | 17.7 |
This is going to be a somewhat odd comparison, but I see Bledsoe as very similar in production to Nicolas Batum. If you look at their per36 stats, they are almost identical - the differences being minor discrepancies in shooting % (Bledsoe has better), Assists (Bledsoe has better), steals (Bledsoe has better), rebounding (Batum has better), and turnovers (Batum has better). I guess the point I'm making is that similar to Batum(Rated an 84 in this league), Bledsoe is a stat-stuffer. An all-around kind of player. One more comparison - Bledsoe's stats compare very well to Tyreke's ROTY season, and Tyreke has only regressed since then yet still has an 83 rating in this league. In games that Bledsoe played this year, the Suns were: 28-15 In games that Bledsoe did not play, the Suns were: 20-18 That's a pretty big difference, especially when you consider that many of the wins during Bledsoe's absence came during an Eastern conference road-trip against teams like ORL, PHI, MIL, CLE. The guy is just super strong, earning him the nickname Little Hercules, or Mini-Lebron. Anyway, an 18/5/5 guy shooting very solid percentages (except his 3 is only average) and getting great steals, contributing significantly to his team's success, deserves a huge boost. The starter for the just barely eliminated Phoenix Suns in the tough Western conference (who would have been in the playoffs had Bledsoe played the full season), deserves an 83 in my eyes.

82 from me. I expect him to be an 85 by the playoffs next year though.

I agree. An 83 is fair at this time. We will know more if he stays healthy next season. I'm sure if he would not have missed games he would have done at least the same if not more. He's a great younger defender and can score at Will. One of the most exciting young guys to watch play in the league. He plays well at both ends of the court. Great thing is he has room for improvement and many years left to do so.

I say 81 for now. He had his breakout season, now he has to live up to this standard before he deserves a boost into the mid 80s.

This might be a better pic, if you like it. Was my lock screen for a bit.
Anyways, this season, Bledsoe played like an 84. However he missed 40 games due to injury. And, if you just take a look at his career stats, this was his break out year. He scored, on average, more than twice as many PPG. Not to mention his assists, steals, and rebounds were all up from his previous best year. He averaged 32.9 MPG compared to 20 MPG last season. Because of this, his turnovers went up, but not by the amount you'd expect, it only went up a little more than 1 TO/G. His shooting percentage increased to 44.7% while taking about 5.5 more shots per game.
My only knock on Bledsoe is that he hasn't shown us enough to be deserving of an 85 or 86 rating. I think that, over the course of next season in D5, there will be another Bledsoe thread, and it will be to raise him to that fringe all-star category.
My rating on him right now is an 83. He shouldn't get a huge knock because of his past performances and injury proneness. His rating should be based off of his last season. I knock him 1 point off of what I felt he was this season because of his lack of previous production.

So you guys rate Bledsoe ahead of Damian Lillard?

So you guys rate Bledsoe ahead of Damian Lillard? I thought about that when I made my rating on Bledsoe. I don't rate Bledsoe ahead of Lillard, I think Lillard should be in the Steph Curry range, maybe a bit higher

83, I'm a big fan of Bledsoe. Lillard should get a stockwatch thread anyday now. Help a King out Mr. King! I refuse to start stock watch threads for my own players after the whole Gay/Josh Smith thing.

82 for me, but I expect to raise him higher next season as he continues on this path.

I love Bledsoe, but 83 is jumping the gun. We're drastically increasing his rating based on 40 games of work. This is another case of rating inflation 80

I'll go 81 but yeah if he can prove it next year he'll go up. He's a truck.
