Charlotte plays: Memphis, Atlanta, Indiana, New York, and Philly New Orleans plays: Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Utah, Sacramento, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. Utah plays: Houston, Denver, New Orleans, Dallas, San Antonio, and Golden State.
It's gonna take some real tanking skill to maneuver my way to as many losses as NO and Utah over the final 5-6 games.

Man that Utah - New Orleans matchup is HUGE. But you're right, despite there being only 5-6 games left, the fight for 3, 4, and 5 in the tankings is still up for grabs. I'm pretty sure you guys beat me in the tie-breaker because of alphabetical order, correct? And by beat, I mean finish above me in the standings... AKA lose. Anyway, I'll be rooting for you.

Can someone explain this alphabetical tie-breaker I keep hearing about... I think because NBA Live 07 is such a crappy game, the tiebreaker for seeding is just done alphabetically. So, say you, NOP, and me all end up with the same record: 26: Charlotte Hornets (24-58) 27: New Orleans Pelicans (24-58) 28: Utah Jazz (24-58) 29: Boston Celtics 30: Orlando Magic Although I believe in the actual lottery they just split the ping pong balls between teams that are tied, which I guess makes more sense for us too. So basically if we all tie, we would all end up with the same % chances in the lotto. So it would be: Magic - 250 balls Celtics - 199 balls Jazz - 118 balls Pelicans - 118 balls Hornets - 118 balls 6th team - 63 balls

Yea, nevermind, it's just all split evenly as I've said above.
"In the event that teams finish with the same record, each tied team receives the average of the total number of combinations for the positions that they occupy. In 2007, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Portland Trail Blazers tied for the sixth worst record. The average of the 6th and 7th positions in the lottery was taken, resulting in each team getting 53 combinations (the average of 63 and 43). Should the average number not be an integer, a coin flip is then used to determine which team or teams receive the extra combination(s). The result of the coin flip is also used to determine who receives the earlier pick in the event that neither of the tied teams wins one of the first three picks via the lottery."

We would have to determine an order with a coinflip though if two (or, god forbid, all three) of us are left out of the top 3, since only those positions use the ping pong balls.

Sacramento and the Clippers are fighting for the last playoff spot in the West...if they were in the East, they would be fighting to maybe get the 4th seed and home court in the 1st round. Big difference.

Tankings Rankings:
In order for a tie(24-58) to occur: Charlotte would have to go: 2-3 Utah would have to go: 0-6 New Orleans would have to go: 2-4
With NO's acquisition of Rudy Gay, I don't see them losing that much. I think it comes down to me and Utah. And I don't see myself winning more than 2 games, and I think that Utah will have to win at least one.
Hopefully I pull out that number 3 tanking seed!
