We need to let New York say something about this trade before trade committee starts accepting. I posted this because we had talked about it and I was under the assumption that I couldn't trade anymore after last night. So I wanted to get it down before I couldn't trade any more. I was informed that I am not a playoff team yet. So I can still trade.

You are missing a PO on Hickson's contract.

If it were to happen, I could not write up a 3 way in 2 minutes last night when I was posting trades.

oh i see now, we will wait for New York to say yes or no. If he says yes, make it into a three way deal if possible.

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I haven't been feeling well recently. I accept, this helps me continue to gain cap space and draft picks

I don't like this for the Knicks. That draft pick will suck and it's the only thing with any value that comes back in the trade. What will that cap space matter when your best player is Larry Sanders? Why would anyone want to sign with that team. Especially since Ryan Anderson isn't even overpaid. He's a really good player and best case scenario the Knicks sign a player of similar talent to a similar contract. More likely though they strike out in free agency and only sign vets with no upside to fill the lineup. I'm going to reject.

I accept. I am looking for depth or at starter at the SF spot. Anderson can step in and be a starter or bench player at SF/PF. I lose a 1st in '14 along with cap room. New York was looking for cap room for the offseason. He gets to take off Hickson's contract as well.

when new york traded Rose, they were cleary going in another direction. I love the move for Indy but I understand why New York is doing this. He wants to start all over and build a young team. He may not get the top free agents but he should be able to get some young guys during the off season.
I accept.

Hmm guess I have to vote. Indiana definitely wins this, but I guess the clearing cap and getting a (late) 1st back helps
I'll accept

Indy went all in to compete this season. He made multiple trades to get this trade. Although he could add a little more,..NY agreed to the trade. Sometimes you may think a trade is not as fair to a team but maybe that gm has a plan of action. Why keep a gm from rebuilding and why jeep a gm from getting the best for his team so he can try and contend for the title.

How can you predict the free agency? I was already accused of collusion earlier this season.
I would switch the Portland pick with the Sacramento pick.
I also have Tyler Hansborough and can help him clear even more cap to make a really good offer to a top star.

I know my opinion doesn't really matter, but I just wanted to say that I think Indiana is getting Ryan Anderson very cheaply here, basically for some contracts and a late first. The only price he is paying is financial flexibility and I don't think JJ Hickson is a throw away player either. Both Anderson and Hickson are 26 and on long term, value deals.
However, with the way the new injury provision is written currently, both Hickson and Anderson will likely start next season on the IR. Even still, I like the deal for Indiana a lot; there is very little risk short-term here for this season's playoffs and both Hickson and Anderson are expected to come back from their injuries.

I can add a 2nd in '15 Sac and a 2nd in '16 Chi.
Both Hickson and Anderson have been hurt lately. That will loom large over my team next year when we implement injuries.
Look how good the Pelicans could have been if they had not had to deal with injuries this year. The Lakers could have had Kobe Bryant for the majority of the season and would have been in a better spot.
Injuries are something to be concerned about, and Hickson and Anderson have dealt with them currently and in the past.

I'm going to reject. Which means this trade is 2-3 to rejected.
It's been a long time since we've rejected a trade actually. About 6 weeks, and there's been a lot of trades.
As Colangelo says, New York has decided to go in one direction and Indiana has decided to go in another. But so far I've seen every Knicks trade as being questionable, each one favouring the other team, but not enough to reject. I'm rejecting this trade because it's worse than the others that have been made recently by the Knicks and because you can get a lot, lot more for Anderson and Hickson combined. Those guys aren't stars, I doubt they'll ever make an all star team or anything, but New York's only receiving the speculative value of Portland's extremely low pick, it's almost a 2nd rounder if it helps to think of it that way.
I reject.

New York and I have talked about making additions to each side. Before we move the trade to the total reject pile, could we post those and see if the committee likes that trade any better?

I have told him that I would be willing to include Sacramento's 1st round pick as well, with an addition coming from his side as well.
