2013/14 Stats: 17.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 2.3 apg, 0.5 bpg, 2.1 spg.
Shot 45.4% from the floor. Career shooting percentage of 50%!
His 2.11 steals per game was 3rd in the league.
Here's my argument: I think he is probably the best player on the 76ers. Some might say that MCW is the best player, but Thad is much more efficient and is a good defender. Now, being the best player on a bad team might not mean much, but let's compare the Orlando Magic to the 76ers.
Magic Player in this league 77+: Jameer Nelson 82 Arron Afflalo 76 --> 81 Tobias Harris 74 --> 77 Jason Maxiell 77 Nikola Vucevic 73 --> 79
76ers Players in this league 77+: MCW 78 Thaddeus Young 77 (I have not included J-Rich since he did not play this year)
While these teams are nearly identical in real-life skill, their ratings are drastically different. This leads me to believe, based on comparative ratings, that Thad Young (and probably MCW) should be rated at least an 80. I don't think its too much to ask and I think it is fair for a 25 year old who has consistently gotten better every year of his career.
Current Rating: 77 Suggested Rating: 81

I think youngs stats are highly inflated due to the breakneck pace of the sixers as well as a lack of other nba caliber players that play with him. I'd only go 78 still he really isn't more than a great bench piece or a 5th option as a starter. His low fg percentage demonstrates how he wasn't really better he just got more opportunities on a historically bad team

Also I think Nelson is pending a decrease or if not definatly deserves one

Young can be the leader of the young 76ers. Will they let him, though?

That's why I included the comparison to Magic players, who are rated much higher than 76ers players. I've used the very same argument that you're using against guys like Kevin Love, but they get ratings boosts regardless, which is why I think Thad definitely deserves one.

I like Thad. His stats are probably a little inflated with being on the Sixers, but he is still a good player. I think 81 is fine for him.

True but I actually have seen thad play several times since I watch the celtics all the time. He us absolutely a good shooter who makes smart plays but he doesn't have a go to move that he can use to get buckets easily, from the few games I've seen this year. Often during the year he just chucked up a mid range as the 6ers had nothing else going on. I think he's a good player but not worth a rating in the 80s

I think his stats reflect that too not just my personal opinion

I love Thad and think that if he put up those numbers in any other season it would warrant him a higher rating, but that team just puts an asterisk on it in my opinion.
I'd still give him a 79, I really want to give him an 80 though.

He got 15 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.8 spg last season on the 34-48 76ers (still suck but the 9th seed in the East), while shooting 53%!
I just don't see how this guy isn't an 80 when our criteria is so low. Look at some comparable players:
Ersan Ilyasova: 79 rating, 11 ppg, 6 rpg, on only 40% shooting for the Bucks (worst team in the league)
Danilo Galinari: 82 rating, 16 ppg, 5 rpg, on 42% shooting (2012/13)
Brandon Bass: 78 rating, 11 ppg, 6 rpg, on the Celtics
Carl Landry: 78 rating, 4 ppg, 3 rpg, on the Kings
I've tried to exclude guys who need obvious rating changes from those comparisons, but Thad Young is better or at least equal to every single guy listed there.

I'll go 82.
Not a flashy player but the dude is effective. Some say he's the best PF in the league at guarding the pick and roll.
