I wrote in the latest standings thread but I'm going to reiterate here that I'm going to make some attempts at increasing the transparency of my simming, at least in this last month of the season. My Boston Celtics are a rebuilding this team this year and I also hold Orlando's draft pick. Both our teams are currently at the bottom of the league after many long losing streaks. This is great for my rebuilding project and exactly what I want as a GM. However, to quote from the standings thread: Since I own both Orlando and my own draft picks this year and both our teams are bottom of the tankings, I'm going to start video recording each time I sim a day's results. I will upload the video to YouTube, if requested, to prove I'm not rigging games. I will also record all Charlotte, New Orleans and Utah games when I sim them. ...When I finally sim the draft lottery at the end of the season I will have a fellow staff member, who doesn't own a lottery pick this year (probably Walt Frazier or Bryan Colangelo), remotely connected to my computer as an independent observer... I'll also video record the draft lottery. I want the top two picks this year and I also want to own a dynasty that lasts a decade, but I don't want any doubt over the authenticity of how I got there!

For example, here is Orlando's game against Denver today:

To be honest, this seems like it creates a lot of extra work for you. I'm all for you having the independent observer of the draft lottery, but as far as recording the simulation of the tanking teams, I think that's too much. No need for you to create so much extra work for yourself, I trust you.

I dont know why you would want to cheat.
To me, you seem like a person who would be more bothered with cheating to win, rather than knowing that you didnt have as good of picks that came honestly.

I agree with above, I think everyone trusts your integrity, or else we wouldn't be in this league at all. Plus, as an NBA Live 07 owner, the way to cheat is to just re-sim the entire day, which we wouldn't know if you are doing or not with the recording

Man I don't know what you guys are talking about. Whenever I picture Ian I'm always imagining this guy: "All the pickssssssss" LOL yea I agree with everyone (and Alex as well since he's using sarcasm) that we trust you Ian. I'm fine helping with the lottery or whatever else but honestly the video doesn't technically prove anything anyway, just means that is the version of that day you decided to post. In your case, that is the only sim you ran, because you're a good guy. We trust you.

Agree as well.
I trust our results 100%. No need for the extra work as far as I am concerned.

You can have picks 2 3 and 4 as long as I get #1 overall! All joking aside. This isn't necessary. We know who should be winning and not winning. It's really not a big deal. You have Orlando and you're own pick. Both of those I would say are two of the worst teams in the league and didn't have early win streaks from being decent to start the season.
I wouldn't be against a filming of the lottery because mostly that'd just be cool.

Thanks for your votes of confidence everyone but I'm going to keep recording each game anyway. It's not a huge amount of extra work, although as Walt pointed out it's not exactly definitive proof - but it's something!

I agree with the sentiments expressed by everyone else, I trust you Ian.
I, however, would think it would be bad ass if there was like a live video feed of the lottery drawing. I know how to set it up via twitch.tv but that is your prerogative, mate.
I also think the tittle of this thread, "Greater Transparency", could be the name of an awesome movie or book.

I'm going to use join.me to do the lottery, I use it at work.
I like to announce the Top 14 picks, one after another, in a countdown from 14th -> 1st pick so that there's some suspense - and a reason for non-playoff teams to log in once the playoffs get started.
The reason I mention that is because I wont be doing a live-feed that shows the lottery, because I like to present it day-by-day.
