Jonas has definitely improved from last season.
He's increased his scoring load and shots without killing his FG% to get to 11ppg on 53% shooting. He's already a better FT shooter than half the centers in the league at 75%. He's an important part of a resurgent Toronto Raptors team that's about to win their division. The only thing he really didn't improve on is his blocking, but as I've said again this more likely correlated to him actually getting better on defense because he's not overhelping and chasing blocks (cough cough Ibaka) which hurts a team when it doesn't work.
I'm suggesting taking him from slouch prospect of 74 and upping him to a useful 78.

Deandre Jordan improved from last season and you voted not to raise him, just pointing out the flaw.
I don't think I'd agree with raising him to a 78. I feel like bumping him up to a 76 is ok. He is improved from last year in some categories, but not all, for reasons that you've said. I don't think a 74 rating is a slouch for a prospect, their rating doesn't necessarily matter.
76

Because I think that Deandre was already overrated where he was. Just because someone has a better season doesn't mean I don't think they got better, but if I already consider them to be overrated I will vote to not change the player.

You never played basketball, did you? Specifically when it comes to DeAndre Jordan I think that he has yet to make any progress on the offensive end. He's a good defender and is capable of showing some jaw dropping displays of athleticism on that end HOWEVER I think that his problems on offense are too much to ignore.

Oh well, I just understand that some guys change the game because of their athleticism and DeAndre is the king the aforementioned characteristic.

Oh well, I just understand that some guys change the game because of their athleticism and DeAndre is the king the aforementioned characteristic. Like I've said before I'm not as familiar with NBA Live as I am with 2K. I know certain stats in 2K will increase an OVR more than other stats. Like rebounding will effect the OVR more than say Stamina or something like that. The trend around here I've noticed is that the OVRs basically are where we have certain centers. I would like to assume that DeAndre's athletic stats are already through the roof. His under the rim and dunking are probably 99 and his mid and 3pt shots are at like 25. And his offensive awareness stat is probably like at 30. I wish I had access to what each of those stats are. Maybe during the offseason Ian can upload a spreadsheet for all the players and everyone can look through it and we can all get eyes on it and see if anything stands out as looking weird or kind of just egregiously incorrect. I'm sure there are some stats, Ian is going around working the ratings for 100's of players I wouldn't be surprised if there are some things just out of whack, it's not his fault I would make a mistake here or there as well.

Kinda funny, there's an argument that he hasn't improved at all.
55.7 down to 53.1 for his FG% 78.9 down to 75.7 for his FT% Blocks down from 1.3 to 0.9 while getting 4+ more mpg
I know on the FG% he's shooting more than last year but that doesn't mean he's improved at all...and the FTA are exactly 3.0 both years.
All of that said, just looking at the player and his stats by themselves, not comparing to his old rating, I think what he does right now is worth a 77 because I think he has more work to do on defense, but I like that he's pretty solid from the line.

As somebody new to the league and completely ignorant of how NBA Live or 2K I have no idea what stats these programs use to create a rating. I would hope that increasing MPG year to year would have a positive impact as well as maybe when the minutes are played (4th Q more highly weighted than 1st Q). As somebody who has watched 80 to 90% of T.O. games year on year I can say that Jonas's confidence and more importantly Coach Casey's confidence in JV have increased from last year as well as throughout this year. Early in the year JV often wasn't on the floor after the 6 min mark in the 3rd Q. Now he's on the floor to close out games. His rebounding has also improved by 20 to 30% whether you look at RPG or RP36M or RebRate. So if he was a 74 last year he deserves a 78 for how he's playing right now or a 76 for the average of the year to date.
