Another guy I don't see a need to drop a biiiig amount, but who also clearly seems to be rated too highly.
2 years ago, played about 24 mpg, put up 10 points 2 boards 2 ast 1 steal and shot just 27.7% from 3.
This year, playing 10 mpg with the Spurs over 10 games, and 6 mpg with the Knicks over 14 games, he puts up about 2 points, 1 rebound, .3 steals?, and has taken about 2 3's all year, making zero of them.
So, his 3 pt shot has disappeared, and he's not being used by teams anymore except for maybe a little defense? He's really playing like a completely irrelevant player but it's probably a little early to drop him a crazy amount.
But for now I think this is justified...

These are the types of players where I wonder how NBA Live comes up with their rating? Do they extrapolate his stats out to a points per 100 possessions sort of thing? Or points per 48 minutes played and then decrease that by 25%? I'd be interested in sitting in on these meetings at EA and just arguing objectively about this stuff.

Well we're using NBA Live 06 and have done a lot of rating changes ourself for a long time now. If you go look at stats from 2007 or so a lot of these ratings make a lot more sense :-p

We're still using 06? I thought we went off the new in game engine that comes out each year? I guess that would explain why we don't update rosters every month or so like they do. Guess I never really thought of it this way.
Either way, I need a job at EA to sit in a room and watch NBA tape and discuss numeric values for players rebounding or the like. That would be kick ass.

That's why every year you got to wait like 2 months for someone to come out with a realism roster that fixes the game settings and roster tendencies so the game doesn't play like NBA Jams.
