Mavericks Send: Richard Hamilton(77) - $8,000,000/$8,000,000 2016 1st Round Pick (Dallas)
Spurs Send: Trevor Ariza(79) - $7,727,280 2017 1st Round Pick (San Antonio)
Mavs accept, nice to add someone that at least isn't purely a guard.

Yeah I'm adding another vet. I'm doing this because I want a scorer at the SG position. Yes he's old but I'll deal with that for one extra season. Plus I get a more current draft pick. The Spurs accept.
I am worried about cap but it's not getting me anywhere. Thomas will prob leave. We hope we figure it out and resign him. But right now we want to win.

I reject.
I'm going to completely ignore the picks, it's a dead horse I don't want to beat once again. I reject because Trevor Ariza is in the prime of his career. He is having a good season with the Wizards and seems to have found a solid role for himself in the NBA. He is nothing special, but he is a good player and is exactly the type of guy the Spurs need to hold on to. Richard Hamilton doesn't even play in the NBA anymore. Ariza is worth way more than a semi-retired player with an awful contract.

Until he's not...it's a fair trade. You really need to be kicked off the trade committee. You so want me to fail. Sorry but your pick won't be good at all. Dumbass...

You can't dismiss the picks either. It's a fair trade and it should be approved. I've also had the same offer on another vet player..he plays on a contending team. I guess you will reject that as well. I think Ian has to make it so you can vote on my trades. Yes Walt and I just had issues but you always start shit. If you want to run two teams tell me and get the ok from Ian and the Spurs are yours. I mean you make it seem like you run my team. Might as well.

Player stats: Trevor Ariza - 14.9 ppg - 6.4 rpg - 2.6 apg - 1.7 spg - 0.3 bpg - 46.1 FG% - 41.9 3P% - 78.0 FT% Richard Hailton - 0.0 ppg - 0.0 rpg - 0.0 apg - 0.0 spg - 0.0 bpg - 0.0 FG% - 0.0 3P% - 0.0 FT% What world do you live in where trading for Hamilton helps your team? He is not in the NBA anymore. He will be removed from the game after the season. Because he is not in the NBA anymore. Are you aware that Richard Hamilton does not play in the NBA anymore? Since dividing by nothing gives you infinity, Trevor Ariza is literally an infinitely more valuable player than Richard Hamilton. You can't just repeat the words "it's fair" and make a trade fair. Stop being unfair. You can't dismiss the picks either. Ok I won't. Your pick that you are trading away is far more valuable than the Mavs pick you are receiving. The Mavs have Rajon Rondo, Dirk Nowitzki, and some other decent pieces as pieces as well. You have Arron Afflalo and an expiring Isaiah Thomas. You also have no cap space to improve you team that way. If for some reason Hamilton wasn't removed at the end of this season your cap situation would be even worse as a result of this trade. How about instead of accusing me of deliberately trying to ruin your team, and using that as your reason to why this trade should be accepted, you should actually talk about this trade. Use legitimate reasons to back up why this trade is fair. Repeating "it's fair" does not qualify, you actually need evidence.

Hamiltons in the game. He will help my team. Ariza will leave. What's the difference. It's my choice of who I want out of the two. Again he is in the game. And as for the picks... you can't prove that his pick his not as good. You can't predict the future. That's not fair.

It's every GMs job to try and Win it all. Some teams never do. Some get close. But every team wants to at least get into the playoffs. Anything Is possible once that happens. I've seen teams dominate through the season and lose to an 8th seed in the finals. That's our goal. The playoffs...from there anything is possible. If this is a lie ok I'm wrong. But it's not...These are facts. If these were legit real players of course things would be different. We want to be close to that but we will never be that close. Let us make a run into the playoffs. The games about having fun and the love of it. Stop making the game suck...

The only other way to be fair about this is if players leave the league no matter what team they are on they get dropped off the game at that time. Not at the end of the season.

One last thing before other cms decide...
I know Ariza is the better player. I personally like him a lot that's why I traded for him. But we are in need of more scoring at the guard position. IRL Ariza wouldn't get traded, but like I said Hamiltons still in our league at the time and he will contribute more to us than Ariza will. I've said it many times this season for sure we are fighting for a playoff spot. We have had a very good December. We need Richards scoring to get us a higher playoff seed. There's no reason this trade should be denied. And the Dallas pick does help. It helps so we won't have to wait so long for a pick. I just want to win. I've been active and in several sim leagues. I know for a fact Hamilton will help us more than Ariza will in accomplishing our playoff goal. Let me run my team. Let us as a team love the game and win and have fun once we make the playoffs. Thanks..

Two questions:
1) JR, what are you basing Hamilton being a better offensive player on?
In this league in November, Hamilton averaged 14.1 ppg on 43.9% shooting.
Ariza averaged 13.5 ppg on 46.4% shooting.
It seems to me that Ariza is the superior offensive player. Can you explain your reasoning behind believing Hamilton to be superior to Ariza?
2) JR, you seem to have a lineup filled with a ton of wing players already. What benefits does Rip bring to your team that one of your other guards cannot? Are you playing on starting Hamilton at the SG?

I was talking to the director of a large company tonight and he was lamenting the fact that the people he managed often make no sense at all. Often times the people he manages will actively manipulate reality so that facts aren't facts and nothing is even real anymore.
That is pretty much the only reason I have any faith in capitalism, because if you're stupid enough that 2+2=5 then youll get eaten alive and fail a million times. It's survival of the fittest and it helps keep society functioning.
This trade is 2+2=5. It makes no sense.
There's been some consternation in the trade committee recently about whether we should fire a GM for just being detrimental, and that conversation has centred around the Spurs.
Unequivocally this is a bad trade for the Spurs. I've messaged JR privately and he's failed the logic test there too.
At some point we have to draw the line.
JR, read this sentence several times before responding - you have no right to complain about this being rejected. If you do, you don't know what you're doing.
I reject.

Yes I planned on starting him. But anyway I've got to go to work. No time to argue. Guess my teams just every other cm now. Like I said and I should have listed. I'll let my team sit as is and get Into the playoffs and go from there.

It is rejected already, I would also reject.
It's almost more like 2+2=1 from the Spurs POV tbh, but still doesn't make sense either way.

According to Basketball Reference Ariza plays SF and some SG. In today's NBA the SG and SF positions are pretty much equivalent - i.e., wing players. Why not keep Ariza and start him at SG? That's what I would do.
