Sitting at an 87, deserves at least a 90.
9 assists. Number 2. 24.6 points. Number 5. 1.7 steals. Number 14. 3.4 3PM. Number 1.
He shoots 47% and 86% - but he does turn it over 4 times a game.
Anyway, Curry is a bonafide superstar and deserves 90 status, maybe higher.

I do think he's better than Harden, Paul George, Deron Williams, Iggy, and Kobe, but I don't think he needs an increase. I'd rather just decrease those other guys

Deron and Kobe definitely do. Not gonna speak on the other guys.
But I really can't see how you can think Steph Curry is below a 90. He is the centerpiece for his team, draws the most defensive attention, and is the best 3-Point shooter in the league.
He's 5th in scoring and 2nd in assists. Wake up and smell the goddamn coffee. Steph Curry is a superstar and needs to be ranked as such.

I'm ok with a 90.

Id go with an 89 just because other than his steals he has to be hidden on defense.

The only thing I can be his downfall is that like Scalbrine said he is a liability on defense.

Stud on offense and some weaknesses on Defense? Sounds like Kevin Love
89 I guess until the "league" (Ian & Barber) decide to raise Love up as well :-)
I still maintain, 95+ (or maybe 93+) should be those superstar "proven" guys you guys talk about. 90-92 should be for the studs who haven't "proven" themselves in the way that a few of you want him to be proven.
I'd put Curry at like a 92 and Love either 91 or 92.

Walt I think you're saying that so that it influences your Kevin Love thread Curry could go anywhere between where he is now, at 87, and 90 in my opinion.

Honestly no, I just see them as similar in the way you guys describe them. Since they haven't had a ton of playoff success you don't trust them, or you guys don't watch anything other than the playoffs or something, I really don't know.
I see extremely talented players who are underrated. If that influences each other, whatever, I just think you guys are sleeping on them and just being too conservative. Are they great defensively? No. Was Amar'e ever any good on Defense? No. Yet he was a 93 in this game. Explain please.

Curry didn't win the 3pt challenge lets drop him down to a 70, all joking aside, Curry is an incredibly talented player, he's probably the 2nd or 3rd best PG that is playing right now (Rose and Westbrook being hurt). I feel that should be represented.

I don't think he is a 90 to be honest, maybe an 89.

IMO b/c Curry isnt an above the rim level athlete he doesnt get the respect he deserves. He has better numbers than James Harden yet Harden is rated higher. IMO Curry might be 1 of the if not the most skilled players in the league. By skilled I mean ability to dribble, pass, & shoot. The fact that he is not a big time athlete yet his numbers are around 25/8/4 speaks volumes to his skill level.

Numbers do lie and I would take Harden over Curry because the former is a big time athlete.

Steve Nash was never a big time athlete and he was probably rated a 94-96 at one point.

I think there are two factors at play here:
What Curry should be rated
Where he rates in relationship to his peers
Some guards need to be lowered which will thus increase Curry indirectly. But I could see Curry being an 89 as I feel his defense makes him "incomplete" in a sense.

One thing I will say about these "non-defender" types. It really gets overblown.
We have very few actually good defenders in the NBA. These guys should get rewarded. There are plenty of mediocre/ok/hustle-type defenders, who put in effort and are thus OK on defense, but not actually super-defenders of any type.
But, the league is littered with mediocre and worse defenders. This is a SCORING league. Hell, LeBron is one of the better defenders in the league obviously, but Durant will still put up 25-30 on him. Paul George is quite good, but LeBron will score his 25-30 on him as well.
The defense just gets overblown IMO. Keep their defensive awareness low if they're not great defenders. If they do get steals at a great rate, like Curry, bump his steals up quite high. Keep his blocks low b/c he doesn't get blocks.
Now, go give him credit for all of the other attributes he has in spades. I think he'd end up around a 91-92.
