Current Rating: 82 Suggested Rating: 86
I know he will be raised well beyond this level at some point, but is it time yet? He's been pretty darn good for a year and a half and shows no signs of cooling off. Besides he can do this:

86 feels a little too high for me for a guy shooting 41.7% from the field. I think his stats are probably inflated a bit because of Portland's offensive system, but they're winning games, so you can't really neg him too much. I'm actually comfortable with an 82 for now, but I wouldn't really argue if he got boosted to an 84.

I bet he's the only guy who shoots a better percentage from 3, 41.9%, than from the field in general which he shoots 41.7% as you said.!

Well shit, there's nothing left to say guys. All these Johnny Manziel rap videos have me convinced. They're relevant to Damian Lillard because... well I don't know why, but I'll be damned if this doesn't make the case for an 86+ rating for Lillard. Anyways, I basically agree with Josh. It's fine to just leave him at 82 for now, but a small boost is no big deal to me.

84. FG% isn't great but for a guard...I've seen worse. He does a lot of things well.

I would be good with 83-84 but with no increase in FG...maybe even a slight decrease in FG rating. The kid is playing solid ball though and should continue to improve...

Great from 3 but shoots a poor percentage overall. Weak on D.

Vlade, I can't believe you want Bosh to be like an 82 and Lillard an 86. That's so retarded.
THAT BEING SAID. I'm not going to take that into account when I rate Lillard.
I think Lillard should be an 84. His percentage isn't great, but he is elite from three and very clutch and carries A LOT of that offense. He is a pick and roll master. And he loves the spotlight. I think his star factor (clutch/ridiculous plays) should overwhelm the shooting percentage which is influenced by carrying so much of the offense.
This is purely eye-test and I have no stats to prove this, but when I watch Lillard, I get the sense that he is one of those players that knows when to just put the ball up at the rim when a teammate is in position for a rebound. That (and Robin Lopez) are the reason Portland is #1 in total rebounds and #3 in offensive rebounds. I think this contributes to his low FG%.
All that being said, his defensive is really pretty bad. He is young though, and I expect that to improve.
For now, I think an 84-85 is exactly where he belongs. If I had to chose I would say 84 but he is on the verge of 85.

Stop trying to raise guys like Conley and Lillard and start by lowering Irving so we can stop comparing his rating to these two.

My ratings of Irving have nothing to do with Lillard and Conley and Ive never compared them. I have ranked Irving lower than them but only in a group of other PGs
