Pelicans Trade
88 - Andre Iguodala - $14,718,250 - $15,904,750 71 - Tyler Honeycutt - $809,875 - $884,293 72 - Ivan Johnson - $490,180 - $490,180 Contract of A.J. Price - $1,000,000 - $1,110,000
Salary Totals - $17,018,305
Warriors Trade
Detroit 2014 1st Rounder 80 Kenneth Faried - $1,311,240 - $1,367,640 - $2,249,768 - $3,257,664 74 Jordan Hamilton - $1,121,520 - $1,169,880 - $2,109,294 - $3,113,317 75 Linas Kleiza - $4,600,000 - $4,600,000 75 Omri Casspi - $2,277,306 - $3,313,480 72 Jonas Jerebko - $4,500,000 - $4,500,000 - $4,500,000
Salary Totals - $13,810,066
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This trade works under the 125% rule. With the 125% rule I can take back up to $17,262,582.
Its tough to give up Kenneth Faried, who I really like especially with his potential and very friendly contract. Jordan Hamilton will be the starting SG in Denver this year and should have the chance to have a productive season with an increase in playing time.
It was also tough to give up the Detroit 2014 1st, since I don't have a 2014 draft pick. Theres a possibility that could be a borderline lottery pick.
But at the end of the day I really like Andre Iguodala and think he will fill the void we currently have at SF. Its risky to give up young talent, picks, and expiring contracts for a 1 year rental of Iguodala but I think its worth the risk at the end of the day.
I accept.

Pelicans accept. Its tough to trade Iggy but our team needs a makeover after missing the playoffs by literally a couple games the past two years. Faried is on a great deal and can be a borderline allstar player for us. The first round pick is also very attractive to us due to the depth of the 2014 draft.
No longer having to worry about resigning Iggy will be a huge weight off our franchise's shoulders. This creates a log jam at PF for us, but I plan on making several more moves to compliment this one.

I could break this way down but when it is all said and done, it's a good enough trade to accept.
Accept.

On face value I didn't like it for the Pelicans, but after reading your reasons it looks good for both teams. Golden State going all-in for next season?
I accept.

Iguodala does everything on the court, he's basically a poor man's Lebron. But he isn't an 88 and his contract is expiring next season so I think it's a good return for a very good but not great player.
Accept.

Golden State going all-in for next season? Absolutely I am. When you trade your next 2 years 1st rounders, you have no choice but to be all in. I've got a few more moves I need to make but I feel like we're on the right track to be back in the mix for the playoffs.

The Pelicans need to cut two players before this trade can be processed.

In order to get things moving I need to cut two Pelicans players. I PM'd Jackie Moon and he didn't respond back in August so I'm not going to wait for him.
The Pelicans cut Marshon Brooks and John Salmons.
