Dwight Howard is pleased to announce that he will be signing with the Golden State Warriors for the following contract:
Year 1 - $18,445,182 Year 2 - $20,474,152 Year 3 - $22,726,308 Year 4 - $25,226,202 Year 5 - $28,001,085
Total - $114,872,929
There was a lot of competition for Dwight, but at the end of the day he felt that Golden State offered him everything he was looking for. The team is young and exciting and has a great fan base that we're confident will make him feel at home. It truly seemed like a place where Dwight could imagine himself being happy, more-so than any of the other potential destinations we considered.

The Warriors are super pumped about Dwight bringing his talents to San Fran!
And before anyone checks the LSD & claims this signing will take me over the cap there are a couple mistakes on the LSD that Ive already alerted Ian about.
Terrence Jones is listed twice & Jeremy Evans has a team option for this year which we didnt pick up so he shouldnt be listed as he should be a free agent. Just wanted to put that out there before anyone got all riled up and tried to cause a controversy.
Really excited about this signing though and it was tough deciding between Dwight or trying to resign Al Jefferson. I wouldnt be doing my job if I didnt check on Dwight's interest level in us and when we recieved a lot of positive feedback from Dwight we had to go for it.
We thank Al Jefferson for what he did this season and wish him luck wherever he ends up

Big news, lets wait and see how Vlade/nbamemos feels about this. In all honesty, I hate Dwight's guts and this just give me more reason to do so. I don't think it was a very good decision on his part, but I respect and understand what Barber did. Honestly, I sort of figured it would happen since Oakland/San Fran constitutes a much bigger market, and that is a factor despite the absurdity of it, than Sacramento. However, I do want it to be known how much money I offered. Josh Smith has ALWAYS been my primary target, but if I miss out on him there will be changes in Sacramento. Also, congrats to Chris Mullin and the Golden State Warriors; they definitely made the division much much tougher.
