Minnesota TimberwolvesNicolas Batum will re-sign with the Timberwolves signing a 5 year contract worth $71,619,716. Year 1: $11,500,000 Year 2: $12,765,000 Year 3: $14,169,150 Year 4: $15,727,757 Year 5: $17,457,810 Total: $71,619,716 Nicolas is very happy in Minnesota and Walt Frazier made it clear money would not be an issue from day one of free agency. A few teams provided some interesting opportunities but there was simply no good reason to leave the Timberwolves. Also considered: Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers

Walt loves Mr Batum and with good reason, he's yet another underrated Euro! Nice signing!

Yea my first choice was not quite this much money but I really believe in Nic as I've shown time and time again and couldn't let him walk. Someone else out there offered basically the same amount so I'm not alone.
