First, I wanted to mention that this does work salary wise due to the good old %125 rule. ;D

My roster is:
Burke-*-MKG-Bennett-Val

So I need a Shooting Guard. This way I get a nice starting caliber shooting guard for two years, and I get a nice backup point guard for Burke. In addition, Joseph is a stellar looking prospect; a guy I can see emerging over time to be my sixth man when Barea expires. The selling point in this trade for me is Shabazz, I really wanted him. He has great athleticism, and even if all he does is score, that's what I'm looking for. With #20 I can also get a good prospect and I think I know who I'm going to take if he's available.

I also do this to make me better next year, hopefully making the pick I traded to Ian less valuable, so that I may be able to win that trade in the long run. I don't think the LA pick will be great and by 2015 I expect my prospects to develop well enough to make me better by then, making that pick not as valuable.

This trade sucks for San Antonio. The picks are a wash and he gets the worse group of players by far. Mathews, Barea and Joseph might be the 3 most valuable players on his team, and he's trading them away for two busts, a poor man's Steve Novak and a mediocre big man. What's unbelievable is that if this trade goes through the most valuable player on the Spurs will probably be Kosta Koufos. All his other players are washed up, overpaid or both.

There are already two accepts so it might not mean anything but I have to vote to reject this, sorry guys.

I see this trade in terms of there just being picks at stake. #16 and #20 in this draft could well be less valuable than the LAL 2014 1st and ORL 2015 1st because this draft is so weak/unpredictable. Shabazz could be James Harden but he could also be Ronnie Brewer and his performance so far leans to the latter (e.g. he wanted to prove he could run the floor, so he goes out and gets 1 assist in his first two games).

The players equal out in my opinion. Koufos isn't bad really. Beasley will be a nice expiring next year? Maybe that's something for the Spurs to work with, especially since he traded for Arenas and Joseph last week for the purpose of reducing his cap, although now they're being moved?

To me this trade just equals out for both teams.

JR I'm only one vote so can we not act like this is such a big deal. The number of trades I've voted to reject is a single digit number so I'm not exactly some kind of trade committee nazi. I have a very low opinion of Beasley and I quite like Mathews and Barea so I probably see this a little differently than most. But I'm pretty sure that's the point. If having different opinions on the trade committee wasn't a consideration then Ian would just accept/deny all trades himself since the other 4 poeple would be redundant.

Also can you please stop acting like commenting on whether I think a trade is a good or bad move is trying to run your team. You've done the same thing before...
