The Denver Nuggets finished as the second seed in the Western Conference and had a stellar season. With so many young and rising prospects, the team can only improve.
One of the major concerns with teams surrounded by young prospects is who's going to step up in crunch time?
That hasn't been a concern for Denver as James Harden has stepped up.
James Harden is considered to be the future Shooting-Guard. with the inapt ability to score at will and distribute the ball among team-mates.
The only concern that Denver possess is the forward and center positions. Brook Lopez is entering the off-season and there will be a lot of bidding going on for the big man. Can Denver resign him?
The power-forward position is also lacking. Carl Landry is not a permanent power-forward solution. He is a quality starter, but he's more suitable coming off the bench than starting each night.
The Denver Nuggets have a bright future ahead of them and have managed to turn a second-round playoff team into true contenders.
Portland Trailblazers
Unable to acquire Damian Lillard in the draft, the Portland Trailblazers had to find other ways to acquire a franchise point-guard.
Doing just that, the Portland Trailblazers acquired John Wall by trading Jeremy Lin and Rudy Gay for David West and John Wall.
If that wasn't enough, the Portland Trailblazers offically entered the EOTY by completing a trade that sent the aging David West for the sharp-shooting, Luol Deng.
The Portland TrailBlazers have one of the most well-balanced teams in the league with John Wall, Luol Deng, LaMarcus Aldridge, and Tim Duncan.
The TrailBlazers made it the Western Confrence finals and are poised to continue making the playoffs and maybe even win a championship.
As always, there's a concern. The aging Tim Duncan threatens the Trailblazers to retire any year now.
If Tim Duncan retires, who will step in at the center position?
Tim Duncan has been a crucial part of the Trailblazers playoff run and without him, the Trailblazers slump down to an average playoff team.
Brooklyn Nets
Coming into the season three weeks before the trading deadline, Billy King has certainly left his mark on both the Nets and Dynasty5ive.
Making a plethora of moves that date back from May 28, 4 days after Billy King was welcomed into Dynaty5.
The timeline of trades that Billy King performed while apart of Dynasty5 is shown below:
May 28, 2013
- Successfully traded Russell Westbrook, Chris Andersen, and Al Thornton for Serge Ibaka, Harrison Barnes, Dion Waiters, Andrea Bargnani, and Omer Asik.
June 1, 2013

June 4, 2013

June 5, 2013
- Successfully traded Harrison Barnes, Dion Waiters, Andrew Bogut, Gerald Green, and Andrew Goudelock, for Danillo Gallinari, Goran Dragic, and Evan Turner
June 6, 2013
- Successfully traded Evan Turner for Jared Dudley
June 9, 2013
- Successfully traded Andrea Bargnani and Troy Murphy for Michael Beasley, Grant Hill, and A.J. Price.
June 13, 2013

July 13, 2013
- Successfully traded Kenneth Faried and Goran Dragic for David Lee
Billy King managed to take a team surrounded by aging and veteran talents on bad contracts and turn it into a team that will thrive for many seasons to come.
The Nets have veteran talent in Jameer Nelson, Chris Bosh, and Luis Scola. However, the Nets also have young talent in Gallinari, Jared Dudley, and Thaddeus Young.
Although the Nets lost a franchise player in Russell Westbrook, they managed to recoup by adding Chris Bosh. Chris Bosh may be the 3rd wheel in Miami, but he was dominant in Toronto and he's the glue that holds both the Heat and the Nets together.
The Nets had to give up Brook Lopez in order to acquire Chris Bosh. Although Lopez may be getting a ratings boost, he's hit his ceiling. He can score but he's not tough, he's not a difference maker particularly.
The major concern in Brooklyn is the guard situation. Jared Dudley is not a permanent shooting-guard solution, even though he may he a great player, he's not a guard that can take Brooklyn to the next level.
Former all-star Jameer Nelson is still a very strong starter and has no problem starting for the Brooklyn Nets for another 2-3 seasons. Bringing in a younger prospect into the Brooklyn Nets will ensure future success and prosperity for the Nets. Goran Dragic would have solved this issue.
Milwaukee Bucks
The dark horse, Glenn Robinson, has also left his mark on D5 and the Bucks.
Although the Bucks narrowly missed the playoffs, they can certainly enter them next season if they can surround their team with some nice free-agent assets.
The deadly duo of Anthony Davis and Andre Drummond should strike fear into competitors and the rising talent of Chandler Parsons should make the Bucks a feared team.
Aside from their front-court, they don't have much to really stand out.
They have a nice prospect and diamond in the rough in Chandler Parsons, but the Bucks don't have a supporting cast that can make the Bucks into contenders.
That can all change over the course of three months though.
With the third lowest cap space being used in the league, the Milwaukee Bucks have a lot of flexibility going into free-agency.
They also have the eighth pick in the draft and could add a piece like Trey Burke to really help the guard situation.
If they can add a few bright pieces to their roster, the Milwaukee Bucks should enter the playoff picture and even make it the second round next season.
Can the Milwaukee Bucks win another championship?
- Honorable Mentions: Chicago Bulls and the New York Knicks.
