THE DYNASTY 5IVE RUMOR MILL
Greetings, basketball sim league fans! Welcome to the Dynasty Five Rumor Mill! Insider information about your favorite teams; Shaken, not stirred!
Let's start things off with trade rumors!
TRADE RUMORS
After exiting a closed-door meeting, one of our insiders in Boston claims that GM Ian Noble is “taking [the Celtics] in a new direction” and that “[Ian] thinks we need an infusion of young talent.”
A source close to the executives at the Rockets' offices informed us that Houston’s acquisition of Marc Gasol is “just the start” of the “big changes” Rockets GM Otis Smith are planning for the franchise. What other trades could he be looking at?
Could a trade be brewing between the two Los Angeles teams? A source in the city of angels told us that the two teams are talking about swapping Blake Griffin and Andrew Bynum. Could this be bigger than the Howard-Amare/Chandler and Deron-Westbrook trades?
The Dallas Mavericks have reportedly been shopping around veteran two guards, Jason Terry and Vince Carter. The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors are apparently both vying for Vince Carter’s services.
Sources from Detroit are saying that Jason Maxiell is being ignored by some in the locker room. Is this a sign that they don’t want him anymore?
Lucas Lutkus whispered to the D5 Rumor Mill that he’s shopping around Corey Maggette’s contract. If you want him, he’s being sold “on the cheap”. On that note, Magic GM Josh Cruzerr is also selling Hedo Turkoglu’s contract on the cheap.
Chicago is reportedly looking for some major moves. Sources are saying that Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah have been put on the trading block. When asked for comment, Derrick rose said, “I grew up a fan of the Bulls. I can’t imagine playing anywhere else.” Noah was unavailable for comment.
And now, on to other news!
OTHER RUMORS
Dwight Howard is reportedly happy with the trade that sent him away from Orlando to New York. When asked for comment, he had this to say. “Right now, I’m focusing on taking the New York Knicks to the next level with Melo.”
Amare Stoudemire, however, apparently, is not happy with being traded to Orlando. Sources claim that Stan Van Gundy thinks that Amare intentionally fouled out in their game with Indiana. Upon returning to the locker room, he apparently slammed his hand hard next to a fire extinguisher. We are trying to follow up with Van Gundy, Stoudemire and his teammates for confirmation.
Sources in the desert are saying that Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin are getting along quite fine and went out for lunch today. We asked Nash for comment about the trade that sent Markieff Morris to New York and he said, “I feel like the Suns made a great trade. I look forward to helping Jeremy Lin be a better point guard.”
We have caught up with the recently-traded Lamar Odom upon his arrival at the airport in Toronto. We asked him for his comments on being traded and being far away from his wife, Khloe. He had this to say, “Maybe the cold Toronto air will clear my head.”
Deron Williams arrived in Oklahoma earlier today. He was apparently happy with the trade, judging from the smile on his face. We asked him for comment on whether he'll still plan on waiving the last year of his contract. He simply smiled and walked off. Hmm.
Russell Westbrook also arrived in New York earlier today and the D5 Rumor Mill caught up to him. We asked him about his thoughts on getting traded. "I'll miss playing with Durant. I would have liked winning a championship with him. But I can't let it bother me now."
Speaking of the Deron-Westbrook deal, we caught up with OKC star swingman Kevin Durant. We also asked him on his thoughts of swapping Deron for Westbrook. "I would love to play with Deron. It would change the dynamics of our offense a bit, but I think that change would be for the better." We'll just have to wait and see.
An unnamed source has passed on to the D5 Rumor Mill that New Orleans GM Jackie Moon has been heard singing Rick Astley’s hit, “Never Gonna Give You Up” in his office. Do you think that means anything?
After the major upset that was the Bobcats beating the Bulls, we tried to catch up to Bobcats GM Lucas Lutkus. He had this to say. “BOBCATS FOR THE WIN, BABY! NBA CHAMPIONS 2011-2012!” He said that in all caps. He said that. In all caps. Bobcats coach Dennis Rodman also added, "I don't care that we won, I'm still wearing that dress next game. Dresses are comfortable."
