We are finally getting a look at what Dame looks like on a contender, and so far it's not looking great. Look last year was an historical year for Dame, over 32 points per game, even without the best efficiency, it was a joy to watch, but we are back to planet earth Dame. He's just a REALLY good All Star level player, but that superstar level player, arguibly top 10 player is gone, and that's normal at the age of 33 and with having to play for wins now instead of just padding stats compared to last season.
He has the same numbers has guys like Brunson, Maxey, Trae out east, but it doesn't feel like he is at a level above them anymore.
Here's how they order in terms of LEBRON: Maxey, Dame, Brunson, Trae
OLEBRON: Dame, Maxey, Trae, Brunson
DLEBRON: Brunson, Maxey, Dame, Trae
As you can see, Dame averages out to be 2nd on the list, but that's about it. That's the group of player he fits with right now, and if that changes going forward we can SW him again to a higher rating, but it just doesn't feel like that's going to happen as of now.
And with both his numbers and percentages coming down, and his defense still being below average at best, it's time for us to give him a rating that reflects that.
