Shooting: 61.8% from two, 40.7% from three on 4.2 attempts per game, and an effective field goal percentage of 61.5%. He's in the 77nd percentile in terms of efficiency among bigs according to cleaning the glass while posting a high usage (20.4%)

He's also been a great defensive player. He's averaging 2.7 blocks per game which is fourth in the league. He's doing this while not fouling a ton as he's committing fouls on 3.5% of defensive possessions which is in the 56th percentile for bigs. That's a good number for someone who is playing center full-time with his minutes load.

Dude’s a stud. Was clearly the missing piece IRL for the Thunder squad to level up on both ends. Just last night against probably the best team in the East, he changed the game multiple times by splashing those deep threes over KP. The more he knocks those down the more that the gravity of guarding him out at the perimeter makes it impossible for your big to float in the paint to protect the rim.

But he’s clearly not playing like an All Star yet. If he was upwards of 20 ppg or 10 rpg I’d probably vote 85 rn. As it stands I’m gonna vote 82. Enough to give him points to be a game changer while leaving room to grow without him needing to be playing at an MVP level to get another improvement later.

I don’t disagree with your conclusion, but one thing I want to slightly pushback on is that this isn’t a pre-established player getting a +6 boost. The rookie rating is more so an honest guess than anything. If someone like Derrick White (just a random example) was getting a large increased based on a good start to the season I think this approach would be more appropriate there.
