Gordon has decided, after sifting through a number of offers, to join Jerry West’s Trailblazers on a two year deal for $13 MM. I know there will be GMs not thrilled with him signing to a bottom five team in D5, so I’ll delve into the decision making here: - Gordon had minimum level offers from a few other teams that are contenders — BKN and HOU — and some inquiries from others — UTA and GSW — that we did consider, and one other offer well above the min from MEM. However, when presented with the option between Olynyk and Hayward given the money, MEM opted for the KO direction pulling them out of consideration. That left POR clearly offering the highest amount of money on the table, which we have seen that Hayward has made multiple career decisions focused on financial security over best opportunity to win.
- Gordon the last six years has been chronically hurt — his average GPs is about 44, and he tends to have long term injuries that are recurring in the same areas. As such, he took from the Hornets a huge financial offer given that backdrop. For D5, he’s taking the assurance of money here when he’s undoubtedly going to miss at least 30-45 games next year given his last half decade durability record.
Terms and conditions are below:
Year 1 (2022-23): $7,000,000 Year 2 (2023-24): $6,000,000

George Gervin and 2 year deals - name a better duo Seeing how you benefited from this “duo” with RJax, I’d advise against firing shots if you want to benefit from it for future FAs

George Gervin and 2 year deals - name a better duo Not sure how you do not understand that him getting 13 million for a season plus 20 games is better than 1 million and hoping to get paid in FA when players below 80 keep getting shafted.

How is this considered firing shots lmao you guys are wild. I just pointed out how you love handing out 2 year deals as evidence by all the recent signings.... For 2 years. This was a completely neutral observation lol

May just be the polarization of PA work getting to me a bit — sorry about that
