Trae is one of the best passers in the league, elite even, but he’s woefully inefficient. Ask yourself, is he better than Halliburton who’s recently been SW to an 88? The answer would be NO…
Let’s take a look
Trae Young is a career 43% shooter, yet has a 86 FG rating, Trae young is a 35% career 3pt shooter, yet has a 85 3pt rating, Trae also shoots 52% at the rim, yet he has a 69 inside rating, comparatively Lamelo Ball shoots the same percentage inside 5ft, yet has a 55 inside rating, CJ McCollum shoots 55% inside 5ft, yet has a 47 inside rating? Harden shoots 59% from inside 5ft, yet he and Trae share the same inside rating. I could name more examples, but I feel like I’m getting my point across.
Trae’s splits this year - 43/33/89
.49 efg% (lowest since rookie year)
57% TS (lowest since rookie season)
Defensively, he’s improved from last year, though he’s still bad, so I won’t harp on it, but he needs a decrease, he’s not a 90 rated player imo, and not nearly as efficient as the sim version of Trae.
