Is this contract legal? A minimum contract can only be for 2 years

Is this contract legal? A minimum contract can only be for 2 years I offered $1 more than minimum. Not in your first year You are using a league minimum salary, the raises or lack of raises kind of don't matter. If you make year 1 higher than the minimum then you're in the clear. That's my understanding, at least

I offered $1 more than minimum. Not on year 1 though? Good catch, I forgot that the initial year is where we are measuring from. George Gervin, if you could just make all years $1 above minimum, that would work. Thanks.

This actually brings up an interesting question:
Does the dollar amount make it "league minimum" or does the function make it league minimum?
James has cap space to offer more, so he's not using this contract as a league minimum purpose (like... When teams are over the cap and can only offer league minimum contracts).
I guess all you have to do is what he's doing now and spend $1 more. But, I'm curious if the dollar amount or the function (obviously yes to the function when needed) is what makes it a "minimum contract"

At the end of the day though this is a sub 70s rated player so I don’t know if it’s anything that crazy — it is more money than he was making as a 2nd round pick for NOP before he got cut.
