Year 1: $11,500,000
Year 2: $10,500,000
Year 3: $9,500,000

Portland offered for Gafford on the first day of free agency, but we were not blown away with the value, so we continued to wait for offers... and wait for offers... and wait for offers. Every other power forward was receiving bids, but Gafford remained the ugliest girl at the dance. Once Jerry West shrewdly threatened to pull his offer if Gafford did not sign today, we did some final reconnaissance; but still could not get just 1 handsome man to take Gafford's hand. As such, Gafford negotiated the deal down from 5 years to 3 years to remain some flexibility going forward, and decided that maybe his current marriage isn't so bad after all.
